hey Don this is Mitchell Canadian survival school say when you go over my bushcraft a kit stay tuned okay so first off is my will blanket that I either tie to the bottom or I use in a horseshoe fashion or I put inside the rock a lot of carry options for a wool blanket

okay so let's break in the pockets the bucket of this pack now even before we do that I have X in the sack sleeve it's part of my kit there's an axe keep inside a little soft to protect it from snow and rain this happens to be a grandpa Brock's small forest ax okay I'll see you top pocket try to do this quickly I just keep my first-aid kit

perhaps top I like to keep this pocket mostly empty I mean it's more than half empty and I like that because if I'm cut I'm hurt or somebody else is hurt I just want to be able to get in there and get what I need and you know really quickly without having to take things out and find things sometimes time is very critical inside my talk pocket as well is some tissues if for whatever reason I don't feel like using leaves to wipe myself after I relieve myself this works well when it's been or if it is actively raining it's raining it's just not a good experience these are nice for the two types of rope power cord bank line and my headlamp right because my bushcraft day kit isn't actually really just for the daytime nighttime counts to the forest the wild at night is incredibly important to hang out and not just the daytime so inside my first-aid kit I have some extra batteries

right that's the whole pocket next pocket down

I have tinder bag just has birch bark in it and a lot of things you know this is its inner bag it's what you'd expect birch bark in there that's kind of the majority of it fills the bottom I can make a tinder bundle because there's broom sedge and there's cattail fluff so it's kind of the best of both worlds there's enough in here to make tinder bundles out of birch if I want which is not ideal or I can use my fir odd with birch which is ideal where I can go primitive and make it's in the bundle code or pouch water-resistant the other thing I have in this bottom pocket my tarp this happens to be an ultra-light sorry that's the outside pockets let's go inside now main pocket I have plenty of room again for lots of things in here if I want to put in you know if I only put my hat in here my gloves sweater obviously I go on the winter too so it's a texture room and it's also nice I'll take everything out to find something it's plenty of room to ship things around ruff about have a sack keep half a sack of my kit obvious reasons

rain pants

rain jacket so my shell this isn't really about models of things and and who makes what all this you know can be made by different companies different manufacturers different models like the Saks does have to be small for a stack sometimes I carry a wilderness after my grandpa's Brooks you know just depends okay next I have food pouch drink pouch get some binocs in here some coffee things like that it's just for the day you know just come out of the woods hang out practicing skills I have my little book bundle the trifecta of course edible wild plants medicinal plants and trees Peterson Peterson zing golden field guides

a lot of knowledge right there okay canteen and cup cooking pot which happens to be a 2 quart cooking pot have a little gear tote and in here the main item in there is a knife and a thora again this could be tons of knives I've carried jackal or knives more knives

LT right knives nearing the end of my kit there's a pocket on the inside of this little rock carry bull drill kit this happens to be birch spoon knife it's like a tool pocket buckle folding saw I put my knife in there but I keep it in a tote I find it's a little better for it compass okay last bit Mike it is my sharpening stone dc4 basically my sharpening kid all together Nagar a stone a brush so I can scrape off rust and prove my patina protect my knife especially in salt water areas and a sharpening stone for my axe dropping you kid alright that's it that's my day kit so I like to think it's in categories categories like first aid tools shelter fire water and food this kit by those principles would be first aid kit part of the first aid would be my hygiene item which is some tissues now tools would be right off the bat the four tools knife of course spoon knife folding saw and ax is the four tools of course with those my sharpening kits make sure I can keep them in good shape so my tools are in good shape I'm in good shape in addition I have four tools a compass incredible tool headlamp with extra batteries my first-aid kit and some rope which is an amazing tool incredible two types paracord bank line like I said round out my tools I have three ID books very good stuff great tool right there that rounds out my tools so next would be shelter it's Walt shelter for my kit is this little rucksack and have a sack this will blanket the shelter as is this tarp and of course round that out with my rain jacket shelter for me and my rain pants shelter for me and just be standing in a storm and be dry okay so that's first aid tools shelter fire fire I have a tinder bag and I have bow drill kit and a fellow rod okay next is water I have a cup in a pot let's let them boil more I have a canteen of water and on top of that would be food they kind of go hand to hand obviously you need water

before you can eat food very important eating food you hide do you hydrate you cooking pot I just have two bandanas in here so I can keep everything clean including myself you know ones like a napkin the other one is like a washcloth it's all nasty round out food would be my two food pouches one has drink items in it the other one has food items in it Justin Mitchell in a survival school thanks for joining me today check out my bushcraft day kit it's a kit that I carry when I want to practice my skills I don't plan on staying more than just the day now it doesn't mean I only use it during daytime is it during nighttime as well

I just don't plan on staying overnight first check out a website in a survival calm and as always draw the outdoors
