you

hey guys sean james here for my self reliance we're just wrapping up our trip on the french river in ontario canada fantastic time got lots of fish couple of ducks for dinner and lots of good times around the campfire weather's been fantastic so far a little bit of rain on the second night over Mike overnight but it didn't impact us at all during the day so we're really just taking our time and having a laid back on a trip usually travel a lot more than I did on this trip and usually go solo as you know but it's been a lot of fun with some great guys one of the best things about this time of year is that all those self-reliant skills you practice can be really put into play so shooting ducks and catching fish and needing those in a little bit of foraging and you know can't cook it over a campfire setting up camp it's a great time to be in the outdoors so a little bit different I don't haven't done any hunting on any videos so far but to probably do a little bit more of that nice nice area up here to jump shoot some wood ducks on the ponds and shoot some gross on the ridges and if I was so inclined it'd be good area for bear hunting and deer hunting as well if I was into that at this time of year up here but great great great way to practice those skills of self-reliance you know self-reliance and and push craft if you're a bushcrafter is not just about sitting around the campfire whittling spoons and and other utensils it's about getting out there and actually applying the skills and pushing you're pushing yourself pushing your limits and trying to actually survive being able to procure your food and protect yourself from the elements being the key keys to survival and that includes hunting I think for a small game and big game and fishing you'll notice that normally target the large fish anymore when I was younger it was all about catching the biggest muskie big as fast and you know biggest of any species and now you'll notice my tackle boxes you know this big instead of three or four of them that big multiple Rudd's and bigger baits so I don't really fish that often for big fish I really I'm trying just to make sure I can catch enough fish for a meal and maybe a few meals so to me that's using smaller lures and targeting smaller species of game fish or or course fish your pan fish so I really really like to practice those skills seeing how many how many small fish I can catch for a meal so that's it guys I appreciate you watching make sure you tune in a Joe Robin hats channel and dugout sighs channel and scrambled owns YouTube channel you'll see a lot of great stuff there and you know including a video of this trip I'm sure the guys got a lot of foot footage this weekend like I did and we'll have lots of good videos coming up so make sure you watch those so don't forget to like and comment below and if you could subscribe to the channel I really appreciate it I want to make sure but he's you know happy with what I'm doing and would like to see more of it and if you are please subscribe and I'll make a lot more videos like this
