good morning Sean James here again from my self-reliance and self-reliant millionaire comm promised a few people that I was gonna make a video about processing of poultry on a small sustainable farm that I did last weekend so I thought it was a good opportunity to tell you a little bit more about myself and why I do eat meat I'm not a vegetarian if you're squeamish or you are a vegan or vegetarian vegetarian you probably don't want to watch this video I started fishing when I was really too young to remember and I started hunting when I was about 15 years old so I knew even back then that these pursuits fishing and hunting or instinctual and that they were innate skills that were essential to our survival but tried short periods of vegetarianism over the years and I know I'm far from an expert on that but it just felt I just left me undernourished and unfulfilled I think emotionally spiritually as well as physically and decided just wasn't for me so what's this have to do with the farm raise poultry you're probably asking yourself well the point is that when you grow up you're eating a healthy and flavorful wild game you really don't want to go turn back to the grocery stores and eat big crap that's available from the industrial commercial and agricultural system so for me that meant raising my own food raising my own poultry in this case or for supporting local farmers that ethically and sustainably raised animals for meat and and fish and dirt story dairy and dairy products and eggs and so on so whatever I can't grow myself I do buy it from friends and family typically that have sustainable farms that I you know that and I like to support them so that means chicken ducks geese and turkeys I started with a couple of Emperor geese that were beyond productive egg-laying so you're plucking these things I like to pull off against the grain of the feathers but you have to be careful so you don't tear the don't tear the skin so it's better if you're pulling down for that for not tearing a little bit easier a little bit faster shaving these little pin feathers or hard to hard to get out because they probably molted recently since we didn't set up the boiling water to make fucking easier on this one I'm just gonna skin this and and cut the fat off the skin save that for for frying with and discard the skin and the feathers heritage turkeys next scalding the dead bird and boiling a lot water makes plucking much more simple and clean and efficient

so anyway really appreciate you watching again I hope you're not too disturbed I hope you'll turn it tune into the rest of the series on home studying and health
