few months ago I asked the question on it ocwen Outfitters forum what quintessential golfin was and really what I was trying to do is plan a trip to an iconic location within the park where you know the feeling or the look topography landscape exemplified quintessential ogawa but today third day of a three-day trip in September solo trip i'm on party lake which is just said with a head lake between head and Louisa this is one of those campsites that you just don't want to leave it's a perfect to this section of the park i'm not sure how often this occurs and i understand not very often because a lot of the stands been cut but this is a back side of this camp sites at hemlock stand and i passed quite a few hemlock a large him like hemlock stand on on lawrence lake just to the southeast of here as well but anyway this this campsites perfect faces south he has east exposure sunrise and the moonrise western exposure off the point for nice sunsets last night i heard a couple of bull moose i was calling back and forth with them went off to the east went off to the west and what off to the south and you know this morning I just don't want to leave its I've got the six-hour paddle out if I take the long route which I'm going to weather was been been perfect with sunny lost two days and cloudy cloudy today it was a chance of showers doesn't look like well we didn't get any last night and we may not get any today what no privately solitude both night I spent Saturday night on mcgarvey lake and nobody else on the lake same thing i heard moose cow calling at cal calling and moose calling off in the hills but having us you know lake to yourself to me is part of what makes Algonquin special when you can find those the time of the year or the remoteness of the lake that it keeps the crowds away this is apparently a good little lake trout lake and I can see probably catch fish lake trail great from shore in the evening especially but in the spring i would say in May you could catch them from shore here it's not a turquoise lake it looks like a productive somewhat eutrophic lake metal trophic against I'm sure it's quite productive not big laker in here when I'm sure there's lots of small ones and this would just be a great place to spend a couple of nights I think I my plan that the future just come here spend a night or two here and then on to Louisa for which is also a beautiful lake big lake so this is to me now what exemplifies Algonquin this is quintessential dumpling solitude nice weather nice campsites even the thunderbox is worse something as simple as that makes it more enjoyable anyway this is September 20 this is September 29th and Monday nobody's been through this lake since i got here at four-thirty yesterday but as you can see the leaves haven't changed it should have by now last year at this time this is a historic peak season hasn't been many edit it's been to warm up to sunny to dry for the leaves to really change it so it's probably another week away from peak which is you know full week later than last year I was here on the same weekend last year up by 10 lake and color was beautiful rate at peak last night was a full lunar eclipse I only started at nine I know too I thinking that was supposed to be fully eclipsed by 10-11 well sure enough clouds rolled in rate before nine o'clock clear just enough for me to see partial eclipse and then then the clouds obscured if away from the rest of
