hey this is Perry peacock with wilderness innovation and I'm up here today doing a little intro a new intro on our PST series of tarps it's been probably four or five years since we did our intro that's currently being used and we don't even carry that color of fabric anymore

so our PST series of tarps come in currently in four sizes the most popular one is I've got right here which are pstl which stands it's the large which is ten feet by ten feet in size we have a medium that's the next step down which is eight and a half by eight and a half feet and is gaining in popularity and we have our standard size which is 7 feet by 7 feet and and that one there's the one we started with and you know that's 10 feet on the diagonal so when you do a diagonal pitch with it it does actually pretty well even though it's only 7 P by 7 feet and we also have a small which is 5 by 5 which is a specialty tarp for particular special uses so I want to do now what what I never do and that's a package opening anyway I thought that might be kind of a fun thought that might be kind of a fun initial way to to rule this thing out just kind of show you what comes with our PST series of tarps

so right here I'm showing you this is an optional this is an optional way that the tarp comes packaged and this is a Cordura nylon bag that the tarp rolls up into with a MOLLE compatible attachment system cause it has two Dearing's on top and bottom and a web here that laces in and out and locks into a cam style buckle at the bottom so that's an upgrade to the that's an upgrade that you get there as far as as far as your what kind of stuff bag it comes in I wanted to show you that so that's very very tough and durable it's an excellent choice you can get it in the regular packaging which is basically made out of the same type fabric as your tarp is made out of and so what you do is right here to open it up come with a nice cord lock it's a nice wide oval-shaped mouth on this cord lock so it's very smooth and easy to work in and out we have a little d-ring here on the bag which assists you in drawing everything up well and inside of there of course is the tarp so your type will come packaged like this so all we do is we unroll it and to give you a little idea we fold it in half three times and then roll it up that's how we get it in this rolled condition here about 10 feet that's a good amount of fabric here we're unrolling so now here we are and here's your tent stake bag or accessory bag we call it a tent stake bag so all the parts that come with you are at our power inside of here so let me just flip that back out of the way

and you just get the contents out of here

so here's a set of tent stakes that you get set of six abs tent stakes and these are nearly unbreakable very very tough I I abused these things like crazy and have very good success with them each of the tent stakes we add a shock cord piece to it and I'm not going to go into detail on that other than this gives you some nice options for when you pitch your tarp I need some adjustment or need some wind dampening or that sort of thing but well that's an extra thing that we add on to here no charge that's included with your package now you get five one two three four five Hanks of 550 parachute cord this is quality parachute cord that actually does test out 552 625 pounds in braking test made in the USA nice stuff so what so it's 520 foot Hank's 100 feet of parachute cord to come with it now we also give you three get three shot cord loops so they're three different lengths this is the longest one here so you got a lot of stretch in this thing they're doubled over they have a cord lock on them so that you can shorten them up again I'm not going to go into detail on these other than these could actually be interchanged for what's in the tent stake and tie it off and adjust it with the cord lock or they can be used separately independently to help secure your tarp to a tree or a bush or whatever it may be so three size of those so all this is included included when you buy a tarp I said kit before and people said what's the kit no we don't have a kid this is the whole deal you buy that you buy the tarp you get this just know no bones about it now your stake bag also has another use you see on the bottom here around velcro circle well that velcro circle attaches to in this case of this large tarp there's three velcro patches on the inside of this tarp

and they're strategically placed where you might put a pole if you're gonna put a pole on the inside to help hold the thing up well this this velcro here sticks to that velcro the pole goes up inside of here that way you don't have anything a braiding on your tarp itself protects it and the velcro also keeps it so when it's windy that your pole doesn't fall over and it makes it possible you can use any pole you find anywhere a ski pole you can use a stick whatever it is put it inside of there you're good to go so that's the deal with that now one last thing this is an upgrade and this is titanium tip stakes now these are smaller six inches versus nine and in size you see they take up a lot less space six of these versus six of these quite a bit different you know that way and lighter weight but my estimation I don't consider the titanium any better than these like these have better holding power but if you're looking to lighten your load a little bit have a little bit less size and bulk to carry with you the titanium is a nice upgrade to go for and a lot of people do that but you know just the way it comes standard it is just perfectly fine and that's the way I use it most of the time okay so now here's the 10 by 10 the pstl tarp then a staked out here to get an idea of it and I'm going to show you what do I show you now is the where the tabs are

on this tarp and all the tarps are done in the same fashion all the PST series we've done the same way just the quantity of tie off tabs is different but they're all laid out the same way so right here in the very center right here is why we call that our center that's our Center Point tab and there's a velcro patch underneath these I mentioned the velcro that worked to the tent stake back velcro under here there's a tab on here so you can push up from underneath with a pole or you can tie off from the top of the tab now in one direction in here going from a center tab towards one corner is a series of either one or more additional tabs and this would be in the pstl there's three sets there's three tabs going over right here is the next tab in the series and it corresponds what with an edge tab right there and an edge tab right there so that's kind of its going on a direction from the center towards the corner there lines up with those two tabs okay and then this particular tarp has a third one here and that's right there and again that's another step closer to the corner if it lines up with this first tab in from the corner on the edge there and there so there's your there's your three with column Center tabs they're the ones in the middle of the tarp not on the edges okay so now we're going to look at the edges since there's a square tarp this is this is one of four edges and they're all the same as this one I've got a corner tab I've got one two three four five tabs and then another quarter town so we've got the tab on each quarter we've got five in between on each side when you add all that up we've got 24 taps around the outside we've got three tabs Center so we've got 27 tabs on this large tarp so you probably don't need anything else to tie off with but if you want to we do have these okay so now I've turned to the underside here and all the corners have a this actually double thick corner gusset and all of our other tabs are ah but they don't use any grommets they'll double double sewn onto a triple layer of fabric around the edges so everything everything is sturdy and tough I've never had a problem with anything tearing out ever and that's very nice and then I'll show you right here is here is one of those velcro tabs that's on the inside that you can stick that bag to let me just show you that all right so here's our tent stake bag again with that velcro disc on the bottom I can take any stick even a shovel handle a walking you know hiking pole a ski pole or just a stick you find in the forest whatever it is put that bag over the top of it pull this drawstring down nice and snug now you see I've got a velcro right on the very top that can stick to that patch on the tarp so I've got that patch right there I can stick that right on to there and now you know it's that things locked in place without any penetrations through the tarp at all and again you can use any any pole that will fit in this bag will work just fine you
