Testing Solar Heating in Mini Parachute Canopy

This brief video shows a test I did for solar energy collection using the Mini Parachute Dome. I'm constantly testing things but rarely to I share a video about it till the product is ready for sale and use.

hey perry peacock here with wilderness innovation I'm up here experimenting around a little bit with our with our dome canopy parachute canopy shelter and we used it last night as the door to snow snow cave we made instead of instead of using snow blocks for it and that worked really worked really nicely and so today I decided I decided to pitch this thing over the leave it pitched over the doorway but pull out because just fold it in half so pull out the other half put my chair here and we've got a sunny day here today so even though it's wintertime or up or over 9000 feet in elevation here and it's very cozy inside of here so it'll dome here captures a lot of heat from the Sun and we've had we've had temperatures up to 83 inside of this thing I've got a oh it came out now ought to put my probe back he and I had a pro banging right here but I was up to 83 degrees about this elevation inside the shelter so so the shelter I didn't know how how well it would capture radiant heat from the Sun because not like a clear plastic or something like that but it actually does remarkably well and you don't have the extreme brightness that you would have with something clear with the heat from the Sun why you know it's a it holds us in here pretty good here and it kind of keeps us thing filling up with hot air that keeps the temperature pretty nice and here you see we're up to 77 almost 78 degrees here so nice and cozy we can easily get 50 degrees on the outside temperature when we've got a son to work with underneath this canopy so you see this is this is what we got right here I'm i anchored up top here as a door over our snow cave and then just thought with this Sun coming in today let's give it a try and see see what kind of I just thinking mostly it would just keep the wind off because it's it is windy up here but I was really surprised that the temperature is able to quickly rise in here up to 80 degrees and even higher so very very pleasant surprise with how well this thing worked so just a little a little a little experimenting that's what I that's what I do a lot of times I don't often put a video out where I show do it up but but anyway this is what I do just tinkering around trying to see what I come up with Oh
