Spoon Carving A Campfire Hobby

Description

I don't presume to show anyone how to carve, but recently decided to do a little something. I show you what I did on my first attempt. I've found carving is a bit addicting, now I can't stop...Help!!

Anyway it is good to make some useful items as part of knife skills.

well so now I finally I'm trying to get some patients in my life was I'm getting older so I've never really done any carving before except for in the Boy Scouts but Shana likes to crochet and stuff when she's sitting around the campfire stuff like that so I thought I need to have myself a hobby that I can sit around the campfire with there and do something and so I decided a couple Kemp's ago to try to make a spoon and I just split out a piece of hard maple those laying around and started working on it and so I'm getting down there see the cut of the side side profile there something a little different nice deep spoon here and I even even carved a little groove kind of in here just for I don't know why just because and I did virtually all of it was just with my straight nice little Swiss Army knife and my more a knife and then I ended up kind of getting into it so i bought a little hook knife here and that and basically i mean this just helped meg i was able to thin out the bowl a little more with the hook knife that's a lot easier when you get down to that fine work but anyway and then i smoothed it all with rocks and everything different course nas's of rocks and i finally broke down and sandpaper this on the very end here so we'll see how that turns out but heading on first attempt to a little have a little fun here like the coloration in the in this maple here but anyway we'll see how it turns out here just have a little fun you

you
