Beef and Broccoli over Campfire Nice and warm Under PD Shelter

Description

Late fall camping in the mountains means chilly evenings. Our PD Shelter over the campfire makes for comfortable conditions for sitting or cooking. I made a simple Beef and Broccoli meal on the campfire. Life is good at camp.

well one of the beauties of truck camping vehicle panting you can bring everything you want I'm going to dump all the meat now roundup roundup okay and for the luxury of my cook kit there's a cup of beef broth keep my fire a little bit under this all right come up to temperature now I've got some minced garlic today and it did ahead of time there and Buddy Mac I've got some chili chili flakes some brown sugar right next we got two thirds of a cup of soy sauce in there there we go now as you notice here I've got my tripod set up right here with the zebra pot and i'll show you later I've got it may turn the zebra cut into a water heater a continuous flow water heater these are my large cooking irons this is a 36-inch set and you know as you can see I can cook a couple piece least two pieces of cast iron on here at the same time so I'm all doing this over kind of us really a fairly small fire I like to take these little this is like a small size server tray pick those things up at are just a local restaurant supply store and the nice thing is that you know plastic it sturdy makes a nice cutting board or serving tray or you know whatever you want I think I'm just gonna I usually dice them up but I think want some bigger pieces here so I'm just going to do like this all right get that over I probably cut it on more onions or not it's not that much sauce out of the other side here stoke a little more fire under here all right so this is a continuous pore water heater and used to make them out of tin cans and stuff back in the old leader old days of 70s and 80s but I turned this my old zebra pot into a water heater so what you do is you pour water in this funnel is a tube in there that makes the water go clear to the bottom and it pushes the hottest water it pushes the hottest water to the top so it gives you a continuous flow of hot water okay spill believe this now i think i'm supposed to slowly add cornstarch but hey dad there's going to be any slowly about it a little bit of thicken sticking her here okay so I've got my broccoli all kind of chopped up here

it all looks in there oh yeah nice color very good al dente right a little still got a little crunch to it but nice and tender my sauce on the Beast second up a little more than I had anticipated there we go that's pretty nice right there I'm pretty excited to start eating this stuff got me a piece of sourdough on there and I'm going to toast that on both sides pull it off now shup some other stuff here alright first of all get the sourdough toasting too much juice from that saucer oh really good sauce sauce juice gravy whatever the heck it is pretty darn awesome that meat is just tender as it can be I couldn't wait to eat this kind of hurry things up well it's a good meal good evening very nice you just can't get too much a camping out about impossible you know this would have been good over rice or something like that too that would have been pretty nice to take all this and jump over a nice bunch of rice or some chow mein noodles or something like that I love it enjoy my time out I'm here under my parachute dome this one has our tubing around the outside Ted tubing so it holds it out this thing is just hanging from the top and I got one just one cord home it to keep from flying around a little bit too much in the breeze but other than that this thing is just handling it's nice and nice and warm right up above nice and warm right here to the fire feels so comfortable to sit here it's really nice you
