Whoopie Sling for Poncho to Hammock Setup using our PSS Series Ponchos

Description

I'm continuing my research into alternate ways to hang our Poncho as a hammock. The ponchos come standard with parachute cord which actually works great and is multipurpose. Using tree straps or a Whoopie Sling can make adjustments easier, allow to hang from trees that are farther apart, and are non stretch. I show in this video how to hang a poncho using a large carabiner and a Whoopie Sling. I used Sampson Rope Amsteel Blue 1/8" cord, which is Dyneema cord. It has about 2500 pound capacity, so no worries about weight. After experimenting I have decided to develop a custom Sling just for our PSS series products, when ready I'll have it in our Cordage section on the webpage. Check out our poncho selection, all of them are designed to convert into hammocks, here's a link http://wildernessinnovation.com

there is a beautiful beautiful spot up here in the desert had me a great night's sleep nice and comfortable got me a fire going back here this morning take the chill off and over here is my sleeping quarters really very nice and comfortable here they strung up between these two trees with some Dyneema cord and i'll show you later i set up the dyneema cord as sort of a whoopie sling type deal and worked really nice for me alright so we made sort of a whoopie sling out of some Dyneema cord actually did a couple years ago but I wasn't using the carabiners then and I didn't think I was that practical when we were using a hammock but sometimes a poncho is sometimes a hammock or a chair or type or whatever but using the carabiners makes it real handy to use something like a tree strap or a whoopie sling type deal I've got this dyneema cord that I put an eye or a loop in it in one end when we come down to the other end I got a big loop in it and that loop is adjustable what we do is just like always you put a put the loop around the tree I'm having to do this one-handed because I don't have a tripod with me so forgive me when it pulls on it it will tighten tighter around the tree all right so on the other end we just take the loop hook it into our carabiner and then we are this Court is dying nema is is a hollow braid meaning it's got a hole in than I love it so we shove one end up through then I go up in here about 13 inches and we come out up here like this with that in if I want to loosen it and all I've got to do is grab so it's like a chinese han tough if I if I compress the sea like that it makes it easy to pull when I let go it grabs right there well it won't budge I'm gonna grab this and pull on it i watch down there yeah that just pulls up like that I can make that thing as tight as lives as I want to just that easily you watch me loosen it there we go now I tighten it up like that wherever I let go of it at it will not budge it off that thing bites right in today that thing will not go anywhere at all so that's how we do the little guy named Accord kind of whoopi sort of swing type of deal and that works really nicely when he is in carabiners with the pod try to set up the chanukah as an addendum to this little video clip just want to let you know that I mean I'm working on a very customized X whoopee sling designed exclusively for use with our ponchos when you set up as hammocks and soon as I've got that ready I'm going to put it on the web page and it will be be under there under cordage so if you're watching this video and you want to know if I've got a whole part out yet let's look on our website under chords if it's there we got
