Tarp: Stingray setup over Hammock (PSS)

Description

Many people think they need to order our large Tarp-PSTL thinking the standard size, 7x7, is too small for anything. Actually there is a lot that can be done, especially with the diagonal pitches that take advantage of that 10 foot dimension. Here is one of those set ups, over our PSS set up as a hammock, (it can also be a Poncho, Tarp, and Yukon Chair). a shelter we call the the Stingray and it's kind of a little new configuration I came up here and designed primarily could use it for anything primarily to work with a hammock under it and let me just show you kind of an outside scan a little here around the side whatever I can kind of show you through the trees here might I don't know I don't you can see on camera well enough to to kind of tell but it kind of has that stingray wings out to the side the little tail kinda like on the end and enough and the front goes out and that gives us a very nice coverage and some extra shelter some extra room inside of there all with the standard size PST so a lot of people think you got to have the the 10-footer to do anything but actually the seven by seven you know if you do your mouth on the diagonal you got about ten feet so as you can see i'm looking right here i'll get a little closer up here this is the regular size PSS set up as a hammock and as you can see here I've got I've got almost two feet out here but still underneath cover of the PSS or the PST so the large size the long size PSS will also work under the regular size PST tarp so just a little bit of some idea there maybe get a little shot here you're seeing see a little bit of the horizontal line so right straight down from that tab is that's the center line tab in the tarp and that center line tab is over about the center of the of the hammock and we're extending out this way a couple of feet horizontally and then we start angling down right here so that gives us a pretty good size kind of a so like a vet's vestibule inside of there gives you some really nice coverage for very little weight and very little bulk all right so so I'm up inside of here now just kind of showing you the space so we've got so the hammock is back here so you know I've got another several feet that in front of me in kind of a vestibule space so you know if I'm sleeping in the hammock I get up in the morning or in the night or whatever I can get up right here I've got a dry kind of a you know nice little area right here that's just kind of protected somewhat and what we've done here is this stick right here as you may have already seen this before the tent stink bag here the tent stake bag that comes with the tarp has velcro on the end of it we tie it off right here on the end of a stick and that does two things one that protects the tart from damage you know in the heavy wind or something like that also that wherever we stick this this velcro sticks to the other velcro so even in a heavy wind it'll just kind of move around it won't slip out of place and possibly damage something so all we do is we do that we come up here and you see the little hopefully you can see it a little black that's a Velcro that's the soft side of the velcro and we just stick that right there and there we go now that thing's going to stay there won't go anywhere now I've got some room if I want to sit in the in the hammock sideways and lounge a little bit I've got a little Headroom a little area to do that as well so you know now I'm in here I'm comfortable cozy got some room in here some space you know I can they can sit in here i can eat breakfast or lunch or whatever they overtake us news i can be writing in my journal making some notes have my laptop or whatever out I'm sheltered I'm in a good spot so here we are this is you using the standard size PST overhead and this is the regular PSS set up as a hammock it's very comfortable and cozy a a lot of different things I mean this is only even this setup right here could be configured a whole bunch of different ways but this is just here at the show me we're just showing a few examples few ideas just some different things as well as the standard way that we do things so anyway have a great day now we're sure enjoy it out here had a great pancake breakfast this morning and i will just enjoying the day up here take care perry peacock wilderness innovation you
