hey there Perry peacock with wilderness innovation here to talk about one of my favorite versatile cooking pot setups that I've used I've used these things for years and years love that aren't things now this is a zebra loop a no pot or billy putt and you can use this thing so many ways I just want to do a quick overview on how you can use the pot and then I want to tell you something really special that that we offer and and that is an upgrade to this pot a little just a little thing here that makes it perfect if the only thing that the thought that I could follow the pot for now this pot comes in two different sizes get out a box here so you can see the darn thing okay so here we are nice nice high quality stainless steel it's as you can see it's very nice and polished inside and out I've seen some kind of pots before out of stainless that the finish is rough or rugged or whatever in and some of them the inside of the pots are really rough and you cook some kind of foods in there that are a little more sticky and you can hardly even clean them out clean them out of the pot because if the pot surface is so rough so it's got a very nice finish to the pot the fit all the parts fit very nicely neatly securely well-thought-out very very nice pot and as you can see these little plastic clips on the side that it comes with they think they you see they come out like this they can get the lid off and when you put the handle up the lid stays on these are made kind of like a can be like a lunch box in in some parts of the world you can carry your lunch in there whatever in lock the lid on so the nice thing that the Billy handle handle makes it possible to hang the pot from a pot suspension or the fire which I love to do a lot of times you know just kind of depends on where I'm at what's going on I have plenty of rocks or that sort of thing around where I'm or I've got my fire a lot of times I'll put the pot right right there on some rocks or with my cooking sticks or something across there but if not I'll do a spot suspension to hold the thing up like that so particularly when you got the pot sitting on something over the fire like a grade or a grill or cooking sticks some rods that you know you sit on you'll if you watch my videos you see that's a guy use those I got some more videos coming up shortly or do some more thing with the pot just kind of highlighting a few things now the only thing that I don't like about this zebra pot I mean it literally it's the only thing I don't like is these clips right this stupid plastic clips I mean you got you got a pot here that's going to be used up cooking and it's got plastic clips on it and now granted this stuff this pot was probably mostly meant for cook on some kind of one another of a gas grill propane grill or something my stove or whatever something like that in that instance you're never really going to have a problem with these plastic clips but if you use this thing over the fire like I do those plastic clips do not work because eventually I don't care how careful you are believe me I try to be really careful before and it is a matter of sooner or later something happens a little bit of heat gets to these things I guess melt off the side of there and now you happen you have

no pop click and the bad thing about that is without the pot without these clips on there the handle will not stay up in this position so if you got on a fire the handles going to be hanging down in the fire some you know you're gonna have to always make sure you turn the handle the right way and all this sort of thing to keep the handle from being too hot to pick it up so it's kind of irritating that way and the other thing is without those plastic clips on there the lid will just come off I mean so this is nice to be able to keep the lid on so anyway I tell you just a little more about the pot and I'll tell you I'm just teasing you about the clips right now let me tell you a little more about the pot this it's a wonderful top there's two sizes to it this is the 14 centimeter this is the 16 centimeter to 14 centimeter in my estimation the way I work it out if I put 2 quarts of water in this pot it comes up about two right here on it and I consider that a working volume of a maximum working volume you've got to have a little bit of space in there for boiling and stirring and all that sort of thing so 2 quarts is very workable in the 14 centimeter in the in the 16 centimeter pot this is a 3 quart pot and 3 quarts again comes to about right here on the pot so that allows you working space to cook so so that so that works very nicely now so you got the stainless steel lid this handle has it's a bridge handle so it's a bridge across this depression in here that that helps to keep the handle even even if you got this thing just boiling heavily inside of there generally speaking you can just pick it up by that bridge handle with your bare hands and have no problem so so that's so that's a very nice feature in the lid now both of these pots come also with the double boiler now the double boiler in in this one is about 20 ounces the little hold and in this here I don't have what I took it I got it somewhere over there it's same thing only a little bigger now this one is about 24 25 ounces that fits in into this one so so it just gives you the ability to cook in the bottom of the pot and it cooks something else in the top oftentimes if I'm out and you might have seen some of my videos before I love absolutely love stinging nettle greens are very wonderful it's like the best tasting greens ever and a lot of times I'll be cooking some rice or something in the bottom of the pot and I'll cook the double boiler in there and in here I'll add a little bit of water in here now just cram this I think just heaping full of stinging nettle leaves I'll stick the lid back on to there and does everything comes to a boil the steam inside of here will we'll start cooking down those greens really nicely they'll be just super delicious and so you're good to go so you can cook a couple things at one time because of the double boiler which is a very nice option now it has - another option - this lid these people tried to be fully functional here the lid has a ridge around it right here that index again to the top of the pot here so I can actually have three things going once so I can be boiling something in the bottom or whatever cooking potato or whatever I'm doing something in the double boiler I can keep something warm in the top here because of the heat coming up through there so I mean this is a super super good setup here and and I like to pack this thing with my food when I go out I repack in the Ziploc baggies or whatever so I can fill every bit of space inside this pot with food I can take this smaller pot right here I can fill it with enough food for three or four days for two people and by doing it like that so they're very nice very functional and and you can carry em you can carry them with I to carry my my pack with the handle up and we'll show you in some future videos some little options that we've got coming for you as far as carry bags and stuff that accommodate handle up carrying so there's no wasted space at all on the lid is locked down all your contents in here are secure no wasted space in your pack or whatever and so very nice both of these pots same kind of deal now let's get back really quickly to the problem here with these plastic clips and like I say this is the only thing I thought these pop spots for I've got these pots over here that I've had for years these old pieces of hippie I mean they're still perfectly good putts there's not even these things that they've dropped and abused and then just roasted in the fire yeah and everything then these darn things are still good I can't even really if I look at it right now I can't even I can't even see a dent in the pot yet so these are very sturdy piece of equipment you buy one of these I mean you could go decades with this pot and never you know never have to have the need for another pot ever so they're really wonderful really wonderful pots now the only thing let's correct the only problem these pots have this these plastic clips the main function of those clips is to is to hold the lid on with the version that comes from the factory because if I take the lid off so they have no function as they come from the factory at these plastic clips other than to hold the lid on and when the handle is in the off position so that's a very limited use of that handle and so with I'm going to just show you I'm on this old pot now with the addition of the spring clips that my friend Steve Despain came up with I was talking to him a while ago about how much I love these pots and and I just I love the heck out of them and I hate I hate the little handle situation because I don't care how careful you are that plastic that plastic right there sometimes sooner or later it's gonna melt outta there I mean it's I've tried to I've tried you know it's gonna come out of it so all right back to the deal so talking to Steve about it whatever he got tinkering around he came up with the stainless they're made out of stainless steel and a spring steel and so these these things right here he came over these simple little clips that go on this pot and it gives me the functionality back there was intended plus even more that's what's cool even more functionality okay so remember this all right so if I take the lid off and on this pot from the factory the handle doesn't stay up if I take the lid off with this one I have the option to press the clip out the handle amount night even with just one clip and I can do both snap them both out but one of them is good enough to handle will now stay up in fact it's so sturdy that I can even tip it sideways and I can still hold everything in place and if I lock both of them in place I mean I'm doubly secure so I haven't so now we've added a function to the pot by meant by adding these clips because now I can hold the handle up even without the lid on it which is which is a great option for when you're cooking over a fire because now you can have your stuff inside of here cooking sitting on the fire the handle will not fall down and even pick up with your bare hands

you can pour out of it like this and the hot steamy Y moisture here is not going to come up and your hand as if your hand was right over top of of your chlorines you pour from the side both hands if you need to but I find out that's what these pots you can hold with one hand like this and pour no problem so it so that functionality has been added to it now what's cool also is I can hold the handle in the up position and because the clips are moved to the outside so I clip so I clip both of these to the outside like that so now I can slide the lid on then keep the heat down in there if I'm if I need to but I can slide the lid on and off very easily with the handle locked in the up position so it's so it's you know so it's really cool it works it works so nice like that so anyway so now we so we have this right here that that enables you to turn your your zebra pod into a super zebra pot and and make even more use out of the pot so so there you go the spring clips so now here's the deal if you buy if you buy a pot from us from off of our website you can we we will we will allow you to buy the pot from us just like this with the plastic clips and you can just deal with the problem later or whatever you know or now if you go to the website and you choose to upgrade for very low cost few bucks you can add these clips to the pot and what we will do if you order it that way at the time of ordering a pot this will go ahead and attach me will take the plastic comes off will attach these new spring clips under here so when you get the pot you're ready to use it just like I'm talking about here and we're going to show you even more we've got more videos we've already shot that are going to be coming out show you a little more about what we're doing with the pot so you'll be ready to go with it now we thought about you know there's so many people out there over the years that have bought these things you know tens of thousands these things are out there and people doubtedly if they've used them in the you know bushcraft using them outdoors they've undoubtedly melted the plastic clips off of there and so they don't have the functionality well we're covering you too because you can go to the website and you can also buy these clips by themselves will Stroman envelope send them to you and and you can attach them yourself very simply these these puppies Potter goes here as they come from a factory they have a couple little there's two little holes one on each side that the that these plastic clips index into and it's on this little piece of the handles attached to you so while you do a spring the clip apart just slightly and and you just take one side at a time and you slip slide that clip into there pull it over let it drop down into the hole on the other side I'm good to go that's how hard it is to put these in anybody can do it I'm good to go just like that
