Lake Camp in the Quakies - Tip Soft Shackles - HD Poncho - Shelters

Description

I went out looking for another camp spot on the far side of the lake that wasn't all pines. I found a nice grassy area in a grove of Quakies (Quaking Aspen) I set up a work area out of the rain under a poncho. An HD poncho was used as a hammock and another as a....poncho....Yet another poncho was used a canopy. Check out our gear at http://wildernessinnovation.com

well I think and this will grow the quickies right here I think I can hanging myself up here and get me a nice little spot

okay so fun doing an HD poncho and putting a soft shackle through there HD fabric is stiffer especially when it's brand new like on the lighter stuff you can just kind of let a job up and it's no big problem but on the HD we'd like to we'd like to let this thing just kind of pull all the way in through here without gobbing it up and that lets us good gets is about half way and then we can start sliding it back against here as we do the other half and what this does right here we just put that to a little loop I just make so this in can't pull back inside of here is to worry about so so now what we do here okay now we do want that knot right there to get up inside of there so once it gets close just shove it in there now what cuts the knots in there it can slide you can slide see there pretty easily and you see I'm right here to the halfway point and at the halfway point right here and I'm now I'm all the way in there now start now I'll just kind of start sliding stuff back that direction and the main thing we're looking for is the knot which is right there we want the knot to come out this other side nothing else really has to come out with the knot so you see here we are where we're there we give a little pull there's the knot right there okay so really that right there is all we've really got to go up in here so now I'll just pull this stick back out of here and we'll put the knot in so now we've got that loop right there we'll get that knot to go in there what's the new the lips on the other side or not we just pull it so there's that loop right there and see as we pull on it it automatically closes that loop behind the nut now that stops no chip flow

well nice nice first a tectonic oh we got us some rain coming in here let me get a little storm [Applause]

well I guess I said in the first if longer they did what's on myself is that something over my hammock you little something over end of the work area and there's a lot of flies all over my arms my hair my neck my clothing some of them regular flies and bottom like that with my biting flies deer flies or something you know but if you can't take a little bit of this kind of stuff then probably shouldn't be out yes what here's absolutely full of nuts it's hard to bust this stuff up without a not a full-blown ax or splitter now I'm running is that one all the way down that's right

that should go pretty good here I'm taking and address the edge just a little bit right out here all I feel is free got to believe it man it's starting to go though here we go busting through it a little persistence that's all it is drains off and on here so it's nice to be underneath this canopy is made out of my poncho this is the PSF el coyote six nice because everything's dry under here not to keep moving back and forth or whatever you

well I got to say I found myself another fun little camps flight this is number number two that I like on the far side of a lake got a nice nice area to hang some Poncho's up of hammocks and stuff like that get some shelter and then it's this just this nice green grass all the way down to the water here's another spot I can use and I anticipate I'll be up here again doing a little bit more so nice nice little place here
