hey Perry tee shot here with a little elevation patters then some rainy weather today this afternoon anyway yeah and you know such springtime stuff here late spring and you know we still up here in the mountains we still get some temperatures sometimes it drop and one of the very important things about about being outdoors is trying to be properly protected so it's important to to know that things can change at any time with the storm coming in temperatures can drop drastically and what was a nice day can can turn can turn deadly I don't really like to use that easily like to use that term very much but but sometimes it is the proper thing to say now you get out you get wet the wind comes up you know next thing you know in the fifties or sixties especially fifties and a breeze and you get soaking wet you can get hypothermic because people have died in the people that died in the 50s and low 60s before one of the great things that you can do with a poncho is you can make a seated bivvy this is a really nice way if you get caught in a storm somewhere and you just need to wait it out or something like that get under a tree kind of like like here under this juniper tree on a bed a nice soft thick nice soft ground that drains the water just seeps down underneath you you're not ever going to be sitting in water or anything like that your poncho is going to keep the rain off of you and help keep you dry and you just get really comfortable just sit there lean up against the tree and relax take a nap whatever you know and wait it out or even I've even slept overnight that's even possible in this case here i also have a fleece liner that snaps into my poncho that's underneath there that also gives me some temp some comfort against the cold so it's a really nice way to wait out a storm

okay then kind of got a fair bit worn out and even under this tree it doesn't provide some I very little at first in a way of blocking in rain but it is possible sitting here on the soft ground and the lady up against the tree in cozy and all that now one other thing I can do here everybody i can grab i can grab the corner of my poncho over here where you see i can pull that in put it under my armpit i can take the other side we did under that on and after what i've done is i have i've now live inated any graph graph wind Lindy graph and you have a part of my body because I pulled that to the inside of me so and basically Thunder my arms so basically than my sight my thighs are basically sealed and I've got this fleece on and it covers me up inside of here so my body he just collects inside of this thing and so I have a good bit of one that's the most important thing that you can take with you to be prepared in a survival situation is what you're wearing the clothing your stuff to carry with you I mean it's nice to be able to say hey I can go out with just a t-shirt and a pair of shorts or whatever then go make it in yet that means that's that much extra work that a person has to do just to survive just to keep from becoming hypothermic just having a poncho and a little fleece liner like this i can add greatly to your comfort level and your survivability and it means it's that much less work you have to do that's right now I don't have to I I wouldn't have to go start a fire I wouldn't have to go do anything I can stay right here i can I can sleep up against this tree if I want to I want to I can even curl down I can rig this thing up so I can kind of pearl inside of it I can turn my poncho into a tarp bring it up in this tree if I want to I will have a ton of options with what I've got on trip and fall somewhere and twist your twist your ink or break a bone or something like that and then you know so you can't you can't get yourself back you know what are you going to do why our gear I hope you do it's great here it's very multifunctional you know like our quadro here can be a poncho from your tarp it can be a gonna be a au contraire a swinging hammock chatter can be how much of something a super shelter you know there's a kind of different ways you can set it up and be a ground cloth it can be a sunshade if it's gotta get shaded from the Sun and the hot summer and something like that you know there's a lot of things that thing can be I just want people to take stuff with them you know try not to leave things behind the mic that you might wind up being you just never know when the weather can turn I mean how many times is the lettermen right you know that means not as much as we'd like right make sure when you go out and leave like in a situation like this I'd at least like to have a poncho even if I didn't have a place of Lisa poncho police I'd the whole other realm of comfort oh the part that gives me wind and rain protection the police business and thermal protection and canes my body you you know or something else I can do in addition to what I'm doing here you know the hoods do have a snap right here and there's a chest nap here and that's primarily for use when you turn it into a tarp where you can do that and pull the drawstrings you can kind of feel off the the head hole here but i can also i want to get up in here a little bit more i can come down here they can snap that down if I want and that I'm inside of here and end my hood clear down over me but I do have that you have it open a little bit on the bottom here on both sides so you know I'm breathing fresh air so anyway take care have a great day it's perry peacock with wilderness innovation just just a heads up as we get into the I mean I'm out all year round you know I try to catch every week year round but you know a lot of people are venturing out more now please don't be a story I read about in and my google searches have been me to all these during these does that happen you know take John take something with your be prepared the best you can don't try to skimp on that anyway take care what the gift so your time out I'm enjoying my time today it's great out here it's an elf NC I'm hopeful maybe I might be a little something as the as the afternoon dr john here though anyway take care have a good time injury timeout be safe take a poncho take a please have a great day thank you thought what if innovation you

you
