hello I'm perry peacock with wilderness innovations and today we're going to do some more alternative fire building techniques we've got several other videos that we've made with starting fires in many different ways today I'm going to cover some other little options here I in the process of gathering wood and stuff for the fire I've kind of got it sorted out over here for from the finest stuff on up to some heavier wood there was some pieces that the inner bark was stripped right out and long thin strips I thought it kind of frayed that out and make kind of like a birds in this type thing here and we're going to strike some fire into that and then we'll shove shove that up under here and and hopefully we'll get everything started and what I've done here is just kind of afraid this out late it inside it in a piece of bark also I've got a piece of cedar bark that I found some time ago that is all frayed up and everything just to give you another little example but for today I'm just going to use this park here it's very very thin as paper thin and I'm going to go ahead and do that with the magnesium and if you haven't seen some of the other videos before I like to use wax paper as a method of catching my shavings off the magnesium fire starter stick and I just fold that in half I won't go into detail on it and I just kind of crimp it up into a little cone shape here something like that take our pocket knife take our magnesium fire starting stick I'm going to scrape some shavings right into here that should be enough few of them I'm going to just go ahead and tuck that right right down into that little nest here now the trick sometimes when you're doing this is when you strike your spark in there sometimes you hit this thing with your knife and throw it all over the place you have to start all over and that's kind of aggravating but we'll see if we can't do a little careful here today and get this done

alright got it burning nicely just going to take and shove that up in here so if we can't catch some of the small stuff in here on fire there we go there's a there's a fire just as simple as 123 just took a few minutes to do and burning up some of the some garbage and stuff that I'd found around camp here and go ahead and get this stuff burned up and I throw some bigger stuff on here and you're ready to cook some tin foil dinners on the fire so I hope you enjoyed this video and look forward to seeing you on the next one thank you bye
