Cattails: Add 'em to Your Meal

Description

Cattails seem to grow most anywhere there is water, and most of us like to spend time in locations that have water. So next time you are out, pick a handful of Cattails and steam them up with your regular meal, they are delicious tasting and nutritious. I like to get into hair you can see here and here some of these younger ones like this reach in and I just like the bottom of the bottom part that's more whitish colored let just any of these tears are getting right over here I reached down into the mud lot of times that part that's down in the mud that's really white that's a pet some good stuff there try to avoid getting the gigantic but something like something like that right there is good that will cook up real nice they take off some of the outside but I just kind of clean them up and throw them in the water but that's what i really like right there so i'll grab a bunch more of these and then we'll cook them up all right so here's a few more right here I just like to they snap them up just about just above the white a little bit that right there these guys right there I'll make some nice nice stuff seemed like the whiter the better when you kind of pull on them and they kind of pull up out of the mud that this little sunlight hasn't hit any of that stuff it's kind of nasty looking throw it back anyway good couple handfuls of that we're good to go right there

right now I've got we got our big pot up here of stewing some stuff here down this pot we're boiling some water underneath for some chocolate then the top we've got us some cattails we're cooking up and those are very nice I'll show you those in just a moment so that in the bottom the water is boiling and that's steaming the top here and it's totally different containers so the bottom is going to be our it's going to be for our hot chocolate or whatever okay so here we go here's some stuff nice onions and potatoes and carrots there we go so nice so it could be a stew but we're just kind of pulling out the solid stuff here yeah all right so I just pulled this pot here off the putter and inside of here is our push that out a lil side of here is our cattails

yeah what was going on up the canyon here for the go usually anyway just kind of peel off the outer the outer stuff that's a little little uh little um what do you call it that's stringer on the way he got actually I mean it's all edible it's really no different then I'm it's really no different then then say sorry or something but you ought to just have the tender heart in the middle so you just do like that and pull out that little middle part they're all right delicious even without any salt on it's good and what I'd like to do is just basically come in here and just peel off the the outer the outer part that's a little more fibrous and I've got a little bit salt on the plate here and eat those things up men are just good just like asparagus we had butter that be better but anyway that's good very nice cattails

you
