Felling Trees Using Leverage

Description

If you don't have an ax or a saw this is a way to fell trees using leverage to make the tree swing then the mass of weight in the top of the tree starts working for you as it's own lever to break the tree near the base. Many times this can be done expending very little energy.

okay so for this amendment here we're going to show you as we're going to not use it acts or saw to harvest the trees that we need for our camp what we're going to do is we're going to use the weight of the tree to harvest itself basically and we're going to use a principle of leverage and the swing or pendulum type effect two to break these trees off rather than cut them so right here this stick so we're going to start with you know I could push on the trunk of a tree like this but I don't have much leverage standing at this height and the trees fairly thick if I could push on the tree up higher when I can get a lot more leverage and I can get that tree swinging better so this tree right this piece of limb right here is going to be used to give us the leverage to get this tree swinging enough to where fighting will snap off all right so what we want to do is we want to be able to have this stick the end of it bite into the tree a little so it doesn't slide off so who want to do is just take the end of it there's a lot of different ways you can do it but basically and it's kind of cutting kind of a wedge in done it here going to get rid of this loose stuff out here at the end just got to get a little more here and this sharp the sharper edge on here will bite into the wood on the tree and I can push real good it won't slide off on me so now I'm ready to go here stick this up on the tree and we'll push on it here

there we go one more there we go timber okay that's fine right here we got us about a 15 foot push stick and we got it high up on the tree as we can get we're going to try to let the tree
