hello perry peacock with wilderness our nation today I'm going to dissect the twig stove that i did a video about about a year and a half ago on kind of show you how its you know how it's made and I'm going to shoot another video after that making a new one with a little different style so here's the is the old twigs though that I did that video on this baby will really get hot so let me show you some of the details about it alright here's the stove I'll show you all the different features of it it's just made out of a tin can like that in the top I had a couple of pot holders I've kind of lost parts of them here over the years but basically they that's just a wire that's bent and I'll take inside out of here I actually put a I actually put another sleeve inside of there because with this setup I had here this thing you gets so hot be like cherry red stuff anyway well this is just a steel rod that's this vent and I made a little made little bracket right here that I pop riveted on in three places so you could have them stick out like this I've got a smaller pot you can kind of put in the middle so that's what hold the pot and can you show you what else I did this is basically just the like a lid to the can and I just cut that out with a with a can opener and I just punched a bunch of holes in it and then all of your your sticks and tender and all that sits on top of that they put some pop rivets around the side in three places and basically this thing here goes down inside and rests on those and that keeps keeps of space down there of air above the fan you just inside of there and your combustion chamber of courses from from there up all right now the last part this is all pretty crude and simple hey it works you puss out of here what I've got here is just a is just a DC motor that i got from radio shack and had some little leads on it up or i soldered some 9-volt battery leads on it and i and i basically just rigged up a little mount out of little pieces of can metal to hold the fan and then i made this round part basically goes into that hole and so that's really that's all there is to it it's pretty simple but let me show you how just give you an idea how it works this this one actually puts out way too much air so i actually wound up and make a mason version this where i put a variable resistor kind of like a speaker volume control and that i could slow it down or speed it up so when this thing's going full bore I'll tell you what you could heat treat metal in it we get this rag started here I'll just show you you just you stick that down and up can there when I turn on the air here now it's going to get noisy able to hear me but this thing that's the old twig stove and i'm going to show you and do i'm going to make i'm working on that uses a uses a pancake fan and that's just going to go right here that will mount to their this thing will be a lot quieter and the air volume will be a lot less i think overall it'll probably this may be a lot better deal just want to show you this old one that i had in that video
