Caching Water on the Desert

Description

In some areas you frequent especially on the desert it is a good idea to cache water as a back up in case of emergency. This video shows a simple inexpensive method. Similarly other items could be cached as well. Hosted by http://wildernessinnovation.com

that's all right I just mostly wanted to talk to be about the surface of the ground and I'll I'll fill it in and hump it over a little bit but so here's my water cache this is an area that I'm you like to come to a lot and it's a desert climate here you know maybe ten eleven inches of rain a year so if I ever get stranded up here whatever the idea is in a few places around here I can cash me a gallon of water and you know in case of emergency I've got something you know to relieve myself with that's a pretty heavy pretty hefty duty hefty bottle here it's a about as heavier heavier one as I've seen and I figure if I bury if I bury this down in here so no sunlight gets it to it or anything like that it's away from the elements everything you know the water should be fine so I'm just going to a start filling that in here and I think right around Ayana make sure I don't have any rocks or anything not that it mattered but just you know try to keep anything you might be sharp from getting right up against it now just kind of keep going around here now kind of tap it in just a little bit so not a lot a little bit I actually want to be able to get it out of here but this this soil in here will be alright because it's not I've chopped through it all and loosened it up you know we'll be fine I'm going to take that little handle I could pull it off of there actually but I just throw a little stuff like that on here

now we'll kind of set the camera back in and I'll kind of camouflage a little bit with a kind of mound to mound the ground a little bit around this thing and so I'm getting a little debris from this brush here which helps to kind of conceal things a little bit and then I attack and I'd pull out some brush from here just to kind of clear me a spot a little bit

so I'll throw a little bit of that and in here

the final thing I'm going to do it just end it come in here and sort of cover over any tracks and stuff let's throw me a little tell me a little debris pan it down in there just randomly there we go now we're pretty well now we're pretty well concealed back here and I know where I'm at because this tree is this old bush here it's about the only thing in this kind of a clearing area amongst the sagebrush and I'll see that whenever I come over the hill you know this will be this would be pretty good for me I'll easily remember this spot so now you know you could person could tag a spot with some flagging or something like that if you wanted to but up here you know there are other people come up in here a little bit and I rather not draw their attention to it if I need this water I'd rather you know make sure it's here for me so so there we are just peri peacock cashing a little bit of water here you
