Horseback into Black Box Canyon - Desert Trek - Utah

Description

I was camping on the Utah desert and some friends were coming by the next day to pick me up and take me by horseback to see some deep river canyons on the remote desert. I got in a good evening meal, and slept very well on the ground with my Survival Blanket and Fleece Poncho Liner from www.wildernessinnovation.com The trip was spectacular. A nice place to go in the winter.

well nice winter morning that's here on the desert

a little chilly outside nice and comfortable inside here though and I threw down right right on the sand no ground cloth no nothing my blanket wore my fleece to bed with me and man nice and comfortable I just used another bed rule thing right here is a pillow and that's perfect man perfect you got a big day ahead here nice to get up and get knocking on it I got it got some friends coming down with some horses and we're gonna go tearing across the desert on some horses today so I got to get all my stuff out of the way pretty pretty quick we're starting a fire I'm down here in this wash and when the water is high all this debris that gets carried by the floodwaters collects and the brush and the trees along here this dust just been hanging out here in the Sun and everything so it's already fine and dry and everything like that I knock a little bit of a sand out of there and you got instant fire started right there okay I'll find some of that root structure is on that well it might just start by itself from a fire last night I didn't think there's anything left from it that is one cold cold breeze coming down the bottom of this wash yeah we have liftoff that should warm things up in short order yeah it's a it's a tiny bit on the ways down there it's trying to see the river but I can't see it this is so deep so steep down in there yeah oh here we are we get out there a little bit you can barely see the water at the bottom headed a long long way down you taking one picture tire and goofy picture this is a video you
