Hammock Strap Kit Intro - Ultralite Poncho to Hammock set up

Description

In areas where tree protection is needed our Hammock Strap Kit makes it simple. Polyester strap with eye on one end, combined with a G Clip from Dutch (link below) makes a quick easy way to hang. For the demo I'm using our Super UL Poncho set up as a hammock.

well what we got here in the trail though nature's Valley it looks like I assumed the people who dropped it here are fully aware that it is biodegradable that foil in there break right down no just help take it back with me I just don't understand why people can't carry out what they carried in but you know whatever

well I'm almost to where it's gonna stop and do a little demo for you little tiny spring but when you're up here in the summertime some time that's all areas well I've camped in this spot a number of times myself but up here our time or two at the Boy Scouts once hiking up and what's on horseback by this camp up here is powder than used for more than a hundred years I've got a couple different kind of suspensions for our punches when you set them both up as hammocks one of them is a brand new suspension kit that we're offering let me show you what it is this is our original hammock tent right here so you've got a set of tree straps for footers you've got a tent so 10-inch Dyneema runners a pair of easton aluminum tents take six inches that were used for marlin spikes then you get a set of shuttle slings this is 24 inch runners kinda that's an option especially necessary if you use a HD poncho so here's the hammock strap kit so you get two straps polyester 2500 pound pull weight on those and 2g clips that's all you need to hang this thing up alright then do any bunch of tough on our ultralight Poncho's so today I chose a a super UL poncho that's a PS SL size and this is this is called dark olive one of our most popular colors it's gonna be my poncho that I set up for hammock today when you're dealing with the super light I don't usually ever roll them up because they're so slippery it's hard to roll them so I just stuff them in the stuff sack

alright so feeding the end of the tree strap through there use the is the G clip as a weight let gravity take this thing down there here we are out the other end right there I like that put the other end of this thing through there okay

just like that so we've got that end of the hammock taken care of now I just go around the tree here this this piece here is designed to hook over your webbing and so what you're gonna do is you want to put it up there and make sure that the edge of the webbing hooks underneath that little ear right there so that's what keeps it from slipping out or anything like that you want to make sure your webbing is you know inside all the little braces and everything you know that I don't have to be tied up against it in fact the the G clip time you have to touch the tree and when I pull on that see it kind of this natural angle kind of forms going down to my hammock if I go if I slide it back more like this now I'm making a really tight band on my webbing and it makes what a gob up in here and I'm stressing my buckle a lot more you got to realize the webbing itself will hold we're only using the buckle just to hold this end in place really so we just make our adjustment here and we hook it over BAM like that now in our set in place there's really nothing else that has to do I'm coming around the tree right here and I'm really not making much of a bend where I come on out to my hammock so I've been playing around with it a little bit here and it naturally wants to stay about like that so you're just you're just gathering in just a little bit of angle where this comes off of there there's almost no stress on your on your webbing here as it goes through all that stuff there I mean that's once you're in there that's just kind of a static pull the webbing here by itself will hold everything so all we're doing is using this as an adjustment to the webbing so the webbing can just do its job and this doesn't have to do very much work people always want to know you know with the poncho what do you do at the hood well just gather it up with a drawstring cinch that up it's got a snap in it that we use to close everything up when you use it for a tarp snap that down that closes it all in and then I just use that as a pocket man I'm suspended yeah this is nice and comfortable right here just like this so now here was my hammock I just take it put it on so I'm gonna do up all the snaps so basically I just just go down through here go up the snaps so I got something as about 12 ounces in weight and it was my hammock it's my poncho as 12 of these tie out tabs that are sewn on no grommets these are stitched on which is much stronger than a grommet so we got 12 of those around the perimeter of this thing to set it up as a as a lean-to or or whatever some kind of a shelter so you got three functions for sure out of this thing you know so now it's like why not take it you can even throw one of these in as a canopy cover over over whatever you're using to sleep in by making this multi-use multi-purpose it really makes it into something that's worth taking with you I usually like to find these ultra light punches I prefer just this stuff them in the stuff them in the bag don't try to roll them up the tea slippery

well here's some Oregon grape starting to come on starting to turn pretty good think about them some plants are very very tart though there's a little sweeter and then some of it depends on the time of year we're still a little bit early this plat back here looks maybe those look a little bit darker so those might be a little bit better oh they're pretty tart but they're good they're full of vitamins minerals and my tongue is probably purple my lips what a heck man it's good stuff trail side snacks
