hi guys what I pop for you today is a little bit of a kit review and today I'm going to be reviewing this which is the Bear Grylls mountain jacket okay now it's no big secret I'm not a fan of the guy particularly however some of the gear with his name on it is actually top quality stuff so this trial has been made by crack hoppers in the patented I think I think it's painted aqua dry fabric which start off with is really nice because I'm not a fan of a lot of modern fabrics because I find them very ruffly they're uncomfortable and they're not they're not nice to worry because of all the noise I make this stuff this awkward right fabric is really it's quite soft to the touch really really nice to work it is completely completely waterproof I've been out in this jacket I've had it for a year now I've been out it's really appalling weather and literally not got a drop of water underneath it okay so that's the fabric that was really going to completely waterproof now another thing I like about this jacket is it's got some very clever little design features so I'm gonna start from the top and work my way down so the hood the hood is really really nice we'll just pop that up there for you now so this hoard is really nice because actually once you've got it all set up properly and fitted see a head of it is we raining it will actually turn with your head it doesn't impair your vision like a lot of what to do it's got this nice little hard kind of reinforced peak at the front which allows the rain to drop off rather than going all over your face

it's got fastening points at the back so you can pull it tight actually around it pulls tight around your head as well as around the front here and that's a really really nice little feature because a lot of the hoods just pull tight around your face but the back still or floppy and loose and what that means is because it's tied around the top of your head in high winds this coat isn't gonna fall off which is a really nice thing to have because is it's obviously it's designed for a mountaineering hillwalking so obviously it's quite quite windy up there most the time and this hook doesn't blow off at all and it's kind of I believe the design is called a grown on hood so if you in really bad weather you can zip that front up you get you long hair court just like that and there you go fits really really nicely you've got plenty moat movement still it's not impairing my vision and I am completely protected there now another thing I like about this it's gonna call a little bit closer here on the inside of that grown on hood there's this kind of soft brushed cotton fabric which is really really comfortable if it was this back were dry stuff on the inside or just normal cotton you like me you often a bit beardy things get stuck in it rubs on your nose and your face this is actually really nice and soft okay so moving on to the shoulders the shoulders have this kind of rough it's almost it's not quite rubberized but it's quite quite kind of grippy almost printing to on stuff here at the top that's really really nice because what that does is you've got a big big pack on it stops your pack from sliding around watch and it really holds it in place on your shoulders okay that's a nice little feature really well-thought-out these are things that on a lot of coats get missed out because I found on some of my other jackets that Bible tends to slip down a little bit particularly governor you've got my big hiking rock sack on and I've got a bit of space under the arms because obviously as you know all your weight goes on your hips and that kind of stops this from happening okay so that's the shoulders obviously here on it it's unfortunately got the grilles written all over it which is a bit of a downside for me because I don't want people to think I'm like here's so moving on to the chest bit so it velcros up the foot that a storm cover and it's double that is double layered there so what rain isn't gonna get in through the zip it's got really good strong velcro on it and the zip it's got a really good zip right now the only problem with the zip is sometimes all the time but sometimes it is a little bit tricky to get this started it's a little bit tricky at the bottom there well it's got the it's got a double zip on it there you go you can see that there and sometimes this kind of sticks a little bit but these little cords seem like little simple things a lot of coats do have them on now but there are nice little features even shaped nicely so if it's cold and you've got your gloves on it's really easy to still zip this off okay so that's the zipper so yeah that bottom part the zip is a bit of an issue but you know we can let that slide the inside of the jacket has a small inside pocket inside this mesh stuff it's really breathable I find that I don't sweat much in this coat normally walk through jackets I find them even cold-weather they get humid and sweating a bit wet inside and bit horrible will just when you're perspiring this coat doesn't do that Jen what it says breathe but genuinely is all the seams on this coat see I can find one that's on show for you use this one all the zips and the seams are taped like this so even the zips and the pockets are waterproof it's got two really big pockets in the side so I keep all my all my books all kinds of stuff another really really huge pockets one problem with the pockets being so huge is it is quite easy to lose things out with them occasionally forget to zip them up because they're not zipped along the top though zips along the sides so it is easy for stuff to just plunk out of there but they are big we are nice big pockets the coat has little elasticated fastening bits where are they I can't find it now here we go around the bottom the nice and strong they're not going to come off anytime soon the way they're constructed is really nice and clever the case of this bit stops that from moving and then to tie it tight knit you've got this little cord a little plastic bit on there and you just pull that tight you can pull it tight around here around your waist it's quite nice as well in this coat because it doesn't come just to you waist like a lot of waterproof jackets do it comes up just a little bit longer cause you're warming the thighs as well and also we viewing really high winds have you got your walk with trousers on it stops the wind getting in them because I find a lot a lot of time I get cold base of the back there the sleeves velcro up which is really nice really easy to open nice and nice and wide or you can tighten them up keep your seat your hands waterproof in you've got your waterproof clothes on or whatever now a couple things I want all about with this fellas I have absolutely no idea what this pocket is for so if anybody knows what this pocket in the arm for me the one on the left arm you know what it's for give me a shout because I have honestly got absolutely no idea what that could be do could be used for now my only major problem with this coat the only major great with it is the fact that there's no pockets on the chest here that would have been really really nice because I like to if I am hiking on Hill walking I like to keep my compass on my map but near my chest so I can easily get to them which I can as far as it kind of makes sense on this Jackie because you can have your bag socks on so they're not really completely accessible but you know it would have been nice to have them anyway and as for the coat that's pretty much all the features that are are to know about it's also completely windproof obviously so inside here the crack lockers it hop little hoppers tag in there so yeah now the price tag on this coat is of a minute this year it's a hundred and fifty pounds it's just come out in the new krylova's rain suit 2013 winter ranges and 150 pounds for this jacket a minute to be honest it's quite a big price tag but if you're into Hill walking you into martini or something I do highly recommend it don't let the bird girl's name put you off it's a genuinely good comb so yeah thank you for watching as always drop near subscribe drop me a like tell me what you think of my videos and if you know what this is for please message me and tell me because I have no idea thank you for watching
