alright guys it's fuzzy what I'm doing today is I'm going to show you how to collect that would now fatwood is a type of wood that is great for fire like this for putting in resource because it lights in almost any condition and it's pretty easy to find and you can find it all year round so the best trees you want to be looking for to collect backward is probably pine trees now you can collect it from spruce spruce trees but it's a little bit harder so we're applying for us today and what we've got here is a scotch pine tree that has died and there's then falling down what happens when the tree dies is it loses all its water attention and the SAP sinks down to the base of the tree and crystallizes into like crystallized resin which is stored in the wood which makes it brilliant for violating it's really easy to get out you can collect it from the stump of the tree but it's a bit of a pain you don't really need to do that so what I'm going to do is show you how to collect it from the erm the little branches and the pine nuts that are growing out all you need is an ax or something with a hard striking surface which is easy to use and get a bit of leverage on it and then you come to your right I just fall through the snow there so what you want to do take your axe or your hammer or you rock or whatever it is you're using and just give it a bit of a hit at the base close the bases you can get it till it breaks away and then just pull it out like that now it's pretty easy to identify you can see in here it's kind of sugary looking and it's more orange than the rest of the tree and the wood as you can see this is quite pale it's really rotten it comes apart quite easily and this is really really hard and it's as I say it's got that kind of sugary toffee type look at it and if you give a bit of a smell it smells really strongly of pine resin which is really familiar as well because it's using a lot of air fresheners and things so we go in a minute I'll show you how we can write this really easily and we're going to have some some pine tea on our fire that we're gonna make thanks
