hi guys what I've got here food fate is another how-to video and today what will be showing you is the Swedish block stove on Swedish fire towards okay and what that is is basically this log now this is a piece of pine that's been season's over a year I've left it the warm garage to really dry out important for this that it is definitely one hundred percent season would if it's still a little bit green this won't work and what I've done is I've had a friend of mine chainsaw across into the top of it and that is the most important part of this now you can do it just by splitting the ward and wedging it open at the bottom but for the purpose of this video I thought changed so in short chain saw and it will be much easier and far quickly to show you okay so to light this and don't be quiet it before I show you that let me tell you how to work it the post of the Swedish mug stove is the fire never touches the floor and this log will eventually and hopefully sustain its own fire so you'll have flames coming out of the center here and those flames also at the top of a nice flat base so that if you've got a kettle with you or Billy can you or a cook on it you can just place it on the top like that it'll stand up nice and safe you don't have to bother with a cooking rig or e ne messing around at that and also once it's gone it doesn't leave any ash on the floor so it's a really good method or No Trace camping now the way this works is I pre collected a few things to get Bernie and first thing you're going to need there's plenty of these little tiny sticks just like I showed you in the basic violating video okay so I've got quite a little bundle of them and also my pocket here I've collected some holy sucker bark which is fantastic tinder and burns really nicely and it comes off of these nice thin strips that's also seasoned and also in my other pocket I have collect plenty of birchbark a bit more so what you start by doing is get your tinder right at the bottom and you wedge that right in bounce the bottom all the way through then you start to add your thin sticks just like so and the tinder will start this fits burning and then the sticks hopefully should start the log burning on the inside you need to get these sticks all the way through plenty of tinder mixed in with them to keep those burning and you want to have those sticks sticking out of all the sides where your lover's been caught so what we'll do now is I'll get that finished and i'll be back with you when that's ready to go and i'll show you how to burn the log itself ok so as you can see I've got all the twigs and the kindling in there ready to go now all I've got to do is light it now the easiest way to do this it's just using a normal lighter you could I've stuck a bit of cotton wormer so you could get it going the spa it's a little bit all good a little bit tricky but it is doable but now for the first is for the other thing is late start using easiest doing it thanks just normal later I will start around the back takes a little bit of time make sure all that can get slip it's quite breezy today was to make it more difficult for me well I've talked a little bit of pine resin in here as well I found just everything to really get it going but as we're to go and that's nice birchbark going on here you

ok so after lots of fooling around and trying to get this going I learned a few things i would say in the future i would probably put another two cuts through this to get more oxygen get to it as this was quite hard to get going on it so it is going now it's very very far if i give it a bit of a blow now and freeze is gone we'll see how many flames actually come out of it as I say because we got the ball courts in it it's not quite getting as much oxygen as it needs however that is ready to cook on its kicking out loads of heat so the only thing left to do now is to put my stuff my little cooker on the top there I won't my stoop to cook Zac's your Swedish glogg though if anyone has any suggestions or you try this before our or anything else you'd like to see me try and do with this free Swedish fire stove please let me know check out my blog at forest of bushcraft wordpress com please give me a comment assuring a like if you would thanks for watching good
