hi guys and what I've got for you today is another review of a DD product DDS I've said in quite a few videos before they absolutely fantastic outdoor gear so today what I'm going to be doing is my new DD frontline hammock and I'm really really impressed with this absolutely fantastic so this is it settle I'm not going to go through how to set it all up or how to take it down because I have shown that in other videos and it's exactly the same as put up the other hand looks with a little bit of a difference which I will demonstrate in just a moment for you well let's have a look at what how this how much constructed first off so you can see it's got the mosquito net which zips up all the way around it's got zips on both sides I have modified the zip a little bit and I'll just demonstrate that now there is one slight problem with it though it's not problem with the construction it's just one of those things this bottoms it so what I've been sleeping this my feet are at this end so when you're in this hammock it's quite difficult to reach right or can get those zips especially when you're lying down so all I've done is a touch the piece of cord of the small off at the end so I can just grab that from the inside on the hammock and pull it short it makes things a lot easier so that's one tiny modification of a and it's all you need the new thing is I've only got this on one zip so it means that I always have to be having my feet at this end even though the whole hammock is actually symmetrical but that's one little feature and as with all of the hammocks it has a dual lining a dual base rather which is what is designed for your insulation to go in so you can use your thermal Roma or you can use a wall blanket which is what I've used this time all the life for various reasons I've put the wall blanket inside the main compartment what I tend to use this compartment or is storing small bags and bits and pieces like this or even some clothes it may have got a little bit damp through they are sticking in the bottom to dry them out and they also use it to keep the stuff sacks or the hamlets as well you know where they are then the reason you get to and then walk off the ground what with blow away and that layer just velcro shops a nice little touch doesn't need to zip up like what some of the ones you can see now the DD hammocks I have changed one quite big feature of this ever since I found it didn't really work that well now the top of the mosquito net here has these kind of elastic bungee cords which when you get in it it pulls the whole thing open so you've got a nice space to work with inside and you've got a nice open space of the Moscow nest right in the face now the hammock comes supplied with some like small tent poles which slide into this green little pocket here now the previous time that I used this I found that those temples whilst a really good idea or a little bit ineffective mainly because they were actually too long to fit in so when I got in it this actually just pulled tight and the poles shot out one way so the way I've modified this is really simple and you don't have to carry this next really it's got a couple of twigs nothing special but up there just and a dry wood and I've tied just a really simple overhand knot around them and threaded it through these loops here which is for the elastic and just use them as toggles basically and they're they've worked absolutely there it was really easy to be much easier messing around with the temples if you can as well you can use a thin rod a thin piece of stick which can go through all three of these and then you can just tie the elastic to either end of it but I found the toggles worked easier there wasn't anything available because they neither do that

now you do need to use the little sticks that I'll demonstrate at this end there are I've also just put on this side I've just tied knots to the loops and now it kind is kind of effective but they can be a little bit difficult to undo but also as you see in a moment when you undo them what actually happens is this elastic can hang out which is big cold weather so that's that's that down this you definitely need those on and on the inside there's one really useful little feature which I'm not sure you'll be able to see on the camera this is absolutely fantastic

a lot of hammocks don't have this provided inside on each side either way your feet are going to be all your heads going to be as I said it is symmetrical the two little velcro pot pockets that is fantastic because what can happen is if you're just sticking your stuff in your hammock while you're sleeping most of it ends up in the middle and if you need to get on the night you can't fly so what I stick in these pockets is using my mobile phone if I've got it with me on also my head torch and my usual little torch it means in the middle of the night if I need to get out do whatever or I need to get hold of anything or my phones randomly going off in the night if I'll actually got signal and I know where it is I can get to it really easy I don't know that my stuff is being safe so yeah that's that's the front line hammock and a lot of people say you shouldn't use hammocks in the winter which puts people off buying them initially but I've just used this in -6° weather overnight and I've been absolutely cozy toasty warm in there I haven't brought any major special gear with me it's absolutely fantastic you're up off the ground and goes off in a matter of minutes goes down even faster I highly recommend it the price tag on it is about forty five pounds fifty pounds we're like clinging postage I do definitely recommend it as with all of Dedes gear at absolutely fantastic so yeah thanks for watching guys go out and buy a hammock you
