hi everyone what about wednesday is look at another piece of kit and this video has been requested by quite a number of people so what I'm going to look at today is this knife which is one you'll have seen in choir but a lot of my videos and it's the bhk bushcrafter so just going to pop the knife out first before we look at the actual knife itself let's have a really quick look at the sheath machines is made from really high-quality thick I'm not sure what millimeter often take my head but it's really good quality full grain leather it's double stitched along the end along the outside sorry it's got a little look for a Ferro rod rod E and then these little eyelets at the top of the bottom it's a standard dangle about bangla sheath but it is able to be put onto your lifebelt issues in this loop as a standard just belted sheath the presta on the front is for an extra security strip which unfortunately with this particularly i don't actually how this made was gift to be a very good friend of mine over in canada didn't send the clip home for it it's not problem I fun I don't really need it I mean the shoot is a little bit loose now it just it's a bit of wet molding that comes out really nice and easily the sheath is fully fitted it's really really nice the knife's it's in there really deeply I could do putting a little bit paracord on just to pull it out well that's the sheath pretty standard sheath to be honest looks nice dark brown what the sheath is a sheet at the end of the day isn't it so let's have a look at the knife itself so the hang of this plane is constructed from a natural bead blasted micarta this gives it a really nice grain kind of look to it so it looks almost like wood now the handle of the blade is fastened to the knife using the two eyelets that you can see here the brass and steel violets will be strong and kind of standard bhk stunna knife eyelets and at the back end here we've got a hollow eyelid which is really useful for attaching things like paracord for doing heavy attacks or you can just removing it from the actual sheath itself it just makes it a little bit easier to use so here's just a closer look at that grain that you can see I'm at mccarter handle which is fastened using those two pins moving into Arthur blade which is constructed 01 tools deal and has a blade thickness of four millimeter so blade is a full-time blade as you can see it's quite chunky with that four millimeter much chunkier than use a go for that really lends itself to heavier tasks such as but I wouldn't allows you to get a really nice split on the wood the handle is 11 centimeters and the blade is 10.25 centimeters from from the handle to the tip so with it it's got an overall thickness of 21.5 centimeters it's a really really nice on the blade there you can see the bhk logo stamped into it on the other side there's a stamped a little oh just here I honestly I ain't sure what that means but yeah it's a really really well constructed blade a shape of the blade has a really nice dropped point on it and the actual cliff ledge blade comes right up to that dropped point very very nice shape on it and because it's all one tools do i found this blade in particular hole's edge fantastically well i've only ever had to sharpen it once properly i had to stop it and maintain and keep it polished ugly obviously with it being a tool steel but in terms of holding edge it's absolutely wonderful the handle is actually quite round on this so very very round hand on it which at first for me because I you to go for slightly thinner blades took a little bit of getting used to but once you're used to it holds really really well doesn't slide around because this little finger groove and it's got a full tank in it which you can see warning throughout so that's pretty much the specifications of the blade so let's have a look at how it actually performs so the main thing I want to demonstrate with this blade is how well it performs at the tolling border but a nice piece of pine here so it's soft wood but that's why I moved towards it slightly chunky blade than the thinner one because it seems to split the wood slightly nicer so let's have a quick look at that it splits really really well it's got a nice wide spying on it which is great for bath honey biting no problem putting no pressure on that all there's a nice clean split obviously it's just put on board nothing too fancy but the extra width on that blade it comes out from the Skandar ground it's suddenly really wide and chunky which makes Baton really nice so we go everyone that's a quick look at the bhk bushcrafter it's all I can really say about it obviously it's a nice so people's opinions are going to vary on various bits and pieces but for me I really recommend that I really enjoy this using this life it's rapidly becoming one of my very favorite tools one thing to be aware of bhk i believe is based over in america and i could be wrong it might be canada but it's somewhere definitely over the war to sleep you are going to be ordering it over here in the UK you're going to have to wait and at least a couple of weeks to actually receive
