hello everyone what I've got for today is another piece of recommended gear and it's a little bit different the kind of thing that I usually do and normal look at very traditional gear but today what I'm looking at isn't something I'd necessarily refer to a bushcraft item what it is something to be very very useful for you in the outdoors and what it is is this it's the through night ti3 yep ti3 mini keychain flashlight actually fantastic bit kit really really lightweight very very happy with this and I was looked dubious at first about this because i was actually asked to do the review and I was sent this out and I've been using it for about two months now and you know what thoroughly impressed with it so I'm going to go through the route through the specifications of it and then we're going to have a look at it in you so I'll talk about why I really like this piece of kit so let's have a closer look at it ok so the ti3 when it arrives arrives in the screen nice little tin tin's are good we all like tins and it's just kind of pump it's just a pretty standard tin and but in the till what you get is you get obviously the torch and then supplied separately that in the tin but not attached to is this really sturdy little clip which can be attached either way so it goes on at both ends i keep it this way just because i'm unable to clip it onto my passion use it as like a short amount of thing and you also get this separate little keychain which is a really good little keychain really sturdy pretty well made my only advice with that is don't do what I did and try and attach it kind of out in the field because you do need to like a multi-tool to attach that with and I tried to turn a dark it was a little bit fiddly but otherwise okay and then of course you get the torch also supply them there

at a spur old ring which fits into this bit which I've actually managed to lose already but you know it's just an old ring and it just allows this this joint here to move much move much more smoothly which is something we'll have a look at in just a moment but ill itself it's just padded with this foam and you also get an instruction leaflet with it as well but how to construct it all and some information about the the different e the different features not features different modes of this torch again what you know we're going to get to the mold of this in just a moment and then obviously on the front it's just got to stick one it says three night guarding end up guarding guiding you through the night and that's the ti3 symbol on there as well and that's just a package and how it arrives we're a nice little feature tins can be pretty useful and it's a good storage place for it when you're not actually using the torch itself so as I said the torch itself has a number of different modes which you can use weights switched on so it's got three main modes and then one that's kind of a hidden mode which is kind of cool so I'm just recycle through those really quickly and talk about them very very quickly and I did write some notes on how long each mode lasts and how many lumens are in them I can't can't pull him in what they are I actually have only brought my camera bag out today and I yeah I didn't didn't bother the notes but the notes and the expedit our little tests I've done are pretty much almost identical to the the information given on the website so let's have a cycle through the most of the first one is this Firefly mode which is very very dim okay you can barely see it the can will probably just about make that out I'm not sure whether that's focusing or not and that's the Firefly mode which at first i thought it's a bit pointless really that mode but actually it's the one that I use the most now that mode is really useful around camp because i find you know bright all the reasons i don't we use torches there you too bright and it's like you take on boom your night visions gone i use that one for you know getting into the hammock at night getting into my sleeping bag rummaging through my pack at night you know trying to find different bits of peace and my organized pouch very very useful useful little mode and it doesn't just just illuminate the whole area you have to have it quite close to whatever you're trying to mate to actually get to work this is a very very very low setting very very valuable even so the next one so to cycle through then we turn it on and then off and then on again and then we get the next setting which is the low light setting which I've managed to get a good few hours out of a my book two hours of use out of this one some of the like how obviously can't remember but that was pretty bright you can probably see that I see it a loom on camera that was pretty bright you use that one quite often and again it's good for getting into the hammock or stuff like that the fireflies not not doing the job for you and very small dogs barking in the distance and the shot guns going off and but yeah that's the low light setting and then the next one up we've got the super bright one and this is that the right one down the last two super i won I just blinded myself now this setting is phenomenally bright I cannot I cannot express enough how bright this is was such a small piece of equipment this area that I mean now will be completely eliminated by this it was the dark don't you know it's still light out here and you can see it illuminate the space around me it is ridiculously bright very very useful and I've been using that for you know watching wildlife and stuff and actually you'll have seen it on some of the more recent videos I've done where I've been filming pictures of food in the dark you'll see it suddenly like illuminate it's this that i'm using I've been attached it to the top of my DSLR camera very very useful you only get about half an hour of light out of this one though and but you know that's more than enough for an evening especially the other two settings really impressed with that and the next one is a little bit more difficult to get to to have to turn it off and on six times we go and we have this stroke Sutton again very very useful I think the idea behind this one is for kind of search and rescue store to make yourself known it uses the same light frequency the light scent brightness as the low like setting and it's more than bright enough very very fast strobe and I actually took me awhile to realize that this was here and I found it completely by accident I thought I've broken it because I didn't read the instruction manual so yeah that's the strobe light setting again pretty valuable especially if you up in the mountains or whatever you need to be found just a handy little thing to have and the fact that's on such a small torch is really useful I keep this torching my butt a little Maxpedition organizer pouch and I keep it in that which stays in the front of my pack and so it's really easy to access and also this clip makes it easy to access as well because I quite often in the evening I'll clip it to the to the kind of lip of my pocket and I'm not worried about that going anywhere it's a really sturdy little clip it's you know it's good quality and the build of this usually good quality as well start going to have a quick look at next so now I will have a quick look at the build quality of this this particular torch so you can see that it's it's the first thing that is really important about this is it's got this grip kind of pattern on it which is really important a lot of these torches which have either like a button on them and then they're just smooth or that they have the twist system same as this one and then let's move again that makes them pretty difficult to operate especially when it's cold and you're wearing gloves or something but this grip is actually it's very very gripping it's quite a deep deeply imprinted and sort of pattern on there and it makes it easy to operate I've tested this island gloves different varieties gloves even mittens and it works really really well the twist on it is very smooth I really like that and that is really important because of the the mechanism which allows it to sort of operate the different the different modes on there and the construction of this is it says on the website it is aircraft grade aluminium I have absolutely no idea what that's supposed to mean what it is it's very ruggedly well made when they asked me to do the review they asked me to do a a torch test of this never read or talk test before so I didn't bother with that the main reason being I couldn't think of anything a relevant torch test which would put it through the paces that sort of your average bushcraft user will be using and I've no worry about this thing break at all it's really sturdy it's it's fully waterproof I've chucked it in late Wyndemere and when I first got it to give a try very very good very very good indeed as I said this clip here I can just unclip it clips off and I can flip it around and have it going the other way and then take it off again whoops turn a lump and flip it back back around I prefer to have it kind of with the the clip facing towards the beam just because as I said I'm actually able to attach that to my backpack and use it almost like a shoulder-mounted light which is pretty useful and to power this just uses let's take this off so there's a little oil ring I wasn't about earlier just in there and it just takes a single double triple a battery which is really useful because I can carry a good few of them in my organizer pouch for very little weight gain and they take up absolutely no space at all which is great the weight of this without the battery in it is 12 grams not sure what the way the weight of it is with the battery in but it's nothing to worry about you know it's not it's not a heavy weight piece of equipment at all I mean look at the size but it's tiny fantastic thing and then to get a closer look at the little clip there so just one of the quick little note about it is something i was reading up about like that wanted to do it well wanted to do this do this review is the inside the reflector on the inside of this you can put you just don't make it out on the screen there is it's actually kind of mottled and it's not smooth apparently this is a really good feature on better quality torches because it it diffuses the light much better and allows it to be bright as a smooth one doesn't throw the beam quite as far and you can see in this is that singles kind of square LED thing i did try and research the kind of technical bits of that led but it's way beyond me and it's not really kind of relevant to bushcraft stuff if you're interested the all information will be on the links description below so that's a quick rundown on like the build specifications of this and why i really liked it you know it grip is important it seems like a small thing and it is it is really useful and the price of this is also fantastic as well i think it it priced up in the UK from amazon the amazon through night official store around 12 13 pounds and then whatever it is the post is wherever you are so that's 12 13 british UK pounds and arrived within what I think about a day of it being of it being dispatched or but you know they are being put through so yeah really fantastic it's the new thing to do now see it's getting pretty dark it's about 40 minutes until sunset here so it's going to be dark then and what hoping to do is give you a good idea of how bright this is now I don't know how well that's going to turn out because cameras there can be a bit finicky in the dark even without like the world's brightest torch they can still because there'll be a bit temperamental about you know like settings and things well i'll do the victim of very best with that because believe me when i tell you that that high beam is ridiculously bright and everyone i've shown this to has been wet blown away by that you know the brightness of it that comes out last single LED or taught this size with a tiny battery in it I am thoroughly impressed with this so stick around until the end of the video and we'll have a look at the brightness on that ok folks so as you can see pretty dark out here now still got a little bit of daylight but I think we should be dark enough to actually demonstrate this so first off I'm behind the camera starts probably all right one I'm quite loud and I've now got the Firefly setting on as you can see it's not particularly bright there it is to solve illuminate in my hand so you can see how close the torches hopefully and there we go so the next setting is the lower light setting i'm not sure what the cum is actually picking that up just doing a decent job but illuminating things but again here is illuminating my hand or here is illuminating me ok so you should be able to pick that up so that's the low light setting now we'll move on to the high setting

so the high setting looks like this and you can really see that is incredibly bright

I really on top of the camera so you girl that is the higher setting and then we just move on to the strobe light to come on there we go and there's a strobe setting so you can see that something may turn it pretty well so I said very very bright torch indeed and then I'll move slightly and what we're trying to do is just do a proper shot of it under the water for you if I can arrange the camera to do that so they've got some water I'll just pop the camera in not the camera that would be a terrible idea I'm a pop of torch and hopefully I'm not gonna put my selfie so here we go under the water and still working absolutely fine now how many able to find any information and what depth we can get that up to the water that is fully submerged in the water there and quite a nice effect read how it pops and works just fine

okay everyone so there you have it that is the three night ti3 torts really really good I'm sorry the the camera didn't really show quite how bright this is but you know it diffuses the beam quite a lot and I think that is the only problem with this tourist I've found is there's no way to focus the beam on that which you know it's a keychain torch which you kind of expect that but it would have been nice of a torts a bit of this quality to be able to actually to focus that beam it really does just fire the fire the illumination right out into the whole area that you're in that it's very very bright in my place okay back on the low-light section again there and so yeah through night ti3 great price fantastic build very very good light quality for you get fantastic and battery life on it and an all-round very good piece of equipment lightweight sturdy and good to go so thank you all for watching please like comment share subscribe all that kind of stuff and keep checking for new videos thank you all very much
