Oh

hi everyone what I'm going to show you today is how to tie the taut line hitch really really fantastic versatile not going to use for number of things mainly I use this one for tying my guyline and tying my ridge line as well it's really simple it's really versatile and that's what I love about this not it's so simple it's usable in all manner of different situations if anyone has any really interesting ways that they use it's not do give me a shout and i'll have a look at it anyway without me going on too much let's have a look at how to tie that's not okay so this knot is designed to go around a tree or a limb or whatever and what it does it allows you to create a very tight line which is adjustable and it's very simple to do it works all a friction you don't have to spend any time really difficult leon tie in this or anything like that and i'll show you how i now so we'll bring our cord around whatever was battalion you can do this horizontally or vertically or an angle when you brought that piece of cord round make sure that you've got plenty on your loose end left to work with and all we do is bring our loose lent loosened underneath our long end and then wrap it around itself just twice like so keep it as neat as you can so you end up with this little curl here once you put that second loop in bring it back underneath itself again and then twice again just bring the loop through and tighten all that all and you'll see that you end up with what looks like a small prussic hitch if you don't have to tie the prusik hitch I'll talk I'll throw the link up there but what this does is those curls create friction on your tight piece and now what i can do is i can adjust this so i can pull that tight to the tree limb and pull on it and that's not going anywhere but if I wanted this long talk peace to be a little longer all I need to do is slide this along just like so and it shortens my long piece and again it stays really nice and tight and all works through friction it's a really useful little knob and to untie it all you do is pull those loops out like this it comes undone really easily no matter how tight it has been done and there you go so I'll just show you again really quickly so you bring your loose end around you're working and giving yourself plenty of loose college to work with bring it underneath it so so you get this kind of U shape or V shape and then wrap it around your talk peace your long piece twice follows in nice and neat bring your loose piece of cord around underneath your long piece again making out little D and then again just two loops loops always working toward was this where the center of your knot is going to be and then pull those tight once it's pulled tight you can adjust your not to how you need it and there you go that is the taut line hitch thank you for watching guys
