I've got another really simple and very useful not for you today and today I'm going to show you how to tie a figure of eight not a figure eight knot is use quite commonly in climbing in rescuing stuff but it also has uses around you camp so I like to use this you can take it and suspend it from a tree and it gives you a nice attachment point and you can attach all the bits and pieces on there and figure of eight part act as a stop a lot so when it's completed it's going to look like this so it's great for attachments and with that nice neat figure of eight there it's a Mexican stopper and it's very easy to untie as well so this is how easy it is to one timer so it might just seem like a really poor broken if this is that it is on easy to untie which is always important with your nuts okay so how do we tie it we start by taking your core loose cord making yourself a large loop in it like this so that loop comes all the way down here and then once you've got that loop you need to put another loop in the two pieces of cord like so so you kind of have make out a little larger than I would do normally so you kind of have this D shape in okay does that be that's a d okay then with this loop just bring it around the back here so I like to bring it around my thumb around the thumb there and then around the back of your loop so you're looking to show you that yet so there's the back of the loop and then bring it through just like so and then pull it tight so as you can see that pulling tight you can see it coming through some wildlife hanger fight in the forest there so there you go those your figure about it that's not going to comment on let's just go through that again okay so get your cord make a loop in that give yourself plenty to play with make another loop in both of those pieces like so it's quite hafny to show you that but it's literally just making the loop so that you end up with this then bring your big and around the back like so and then through the middle pull it tight and they have it i'll just show you that one more time so we put over make your d in the two loops like so I'm sorry my own hands are getting in the way of that a little bit but there's nothing I can do about that I'm afraid okay so you've got that d bring this top loop around through the back and then up through itself and there you go that's the figure of eight now I'm just going to do it one more time in front of you so it's a little bit easy for me to see what I'm doing on the camera so make a loop like d

bring that loop around the back so you can see I've got it there bring it around so you've been getting it through the back like so and pull that tight okay you have a nice neat figure of eight knot and that figure eight knot just a matter how much pressure you put on that it's not going to come on dawn and it makes a fantastic attachment point for different things one really useful way of doing this thing to do with this is a I like to put these on the ends of if you look at my how to set up your tart and hammock with an open front these go really really nicely from the corner of your tarpaulin to leap over your stick and then using this loose bit if you can put a long gaya line on that you can use to pull it tight really handy but I slippery hitch back for that which is going to be my next video
