How to set up a basic tarp and hammock sleeping system part 1

Description

Part one of a basic tarp and Hammock set up for bushcraft. nothing too technical just the very basics, i decided to leave the end of this video in because it was amusing, but also goes to illustrate that sometimes in wet weather the pegs who i had borrowed off dan) dont stay in properly, so instead i ended up tieing that corner off to a tree stump that was in the perfect place.

okay guys force here and not in a video for a while so it's my first one this year I think so I thought what game is I doing a video on the fundamentals of bushcraft and survival so today I'm going to show you how to pull a really really basic tap and have it sell so as you can see find a good spot between these two trees I've measured it to make sure make sure it's right my hat my hammock and my tarp and the tight rope hammock plan using using are these the Dedes range so this will know basic hammocks and this is their smallest start they do it's a little bit small couple of drawbacks with it the hammock kind of sticks out a little bit towards the ends if you don't get it right but it is really lightweight like it's a big bonus it's lightweight packs up to nothing you can pack it up lots more and little bit more organized and I am I've pretty much to stuff it in here but if you fold it correctly it's about the same size as the hammer the hammock again really really lightweight easy to carry really so no really complicated bits or anything all you've got doing spine to either these trees of collect distance apart or you can use rocks or something or even maybe some fence posts I've done in the past okay so I'm going to start setting this up now okay so as you can see I've lifted my tarp out I lifted it out off camera because it was really tangled because I didn't put away properly and so what you think took two trees and more than three meters apart make sure you've got enough cords to go around both of them nice and securely I like to get my tile kind of laid out first some people do a different way this way just works best for me okay so the first thing you need to do is just tie your guideline

now this tarp actually has loops at the top and the tarpaulin to put your guideline through I tend not to use these because I like to have a dial on on the inside of my tarpaulin so I can hang stuff off it in the night things like a torch I'm a bit of pouts and phone or GPS things like that so might at my dye lines going to go on the underside of the top so not that I use really simple one not the best not in the world I am going to do a video at some point the near future on all the knots that you can use it's just a simple round turn a half hitch so around a tree a couple of times much easier if you're not like me and you've got nice big arms now you want your guy line at roughly I would say head height or higher okay for tarp this small I would say no higher than head pipe you'll see why Shawn so you take your paracord round once then you take it round again and then to tie your half hitch take your power cord underneath the original cord to make this V and then bring it through the V itself on its own doesn't really do much then you repeat that just do a couple of those and that gives you a nice simple but tight knot you can tighten up to the tree there just like that okay then we go and do the same on the other side

again getting your paracord roughly head height so it's even in the center a little bit the difference this time though you need to make sure once you've got your first piece round you pull it nice and tight as you can see I haven't actually got enough cord to take it around the tree again but doesn't matter as we just do the same thing turn around again itself tighten that up that gives you a nice strong so I've got on the end here which I'll show how to do at the end of the video just use the title get roughly in the center of your two trees slip it off but it'll be okay then you just need to start the guidelines the same way to do the tech do the tent so I'll go through now
