hello everyone and welcome to another video today's video is another product recommendation for you and today I'm going to be looking at this which is the compact three three quarter length 2.5 self-inflating sleep mat from 0 e x 0 x OE x logo so oh x first of all before we look at the mat itself Oh exr a brand I've only recently started to notice particularly in go outdoors which is a uk-based shop play with anyone that's overseas I'm not sure whether they sell exclusively to go outdoors I tried to research into it I'm not sure however I haven't seen their brand anywhere else so I think there might be exclusive to go outdoors whilst this is the only product to those that i own i have seen and i have used some of their other products and I'm thoroughly impressed with them the price ratio to quality ratio is absolutely perfect so judging from this map OE x or a brand i think i'm going to be using quite quite a bit so let's get into this map them so before i take it out let's have a look at how its packaged so it comes as standard with its own dry bike so the drive back itself is really really robust i'm not sure what it's made from and what it is you can feel just by just by holding it how our bus this is gotta roll top on it can't roll properly and a stir a really sturdy clip you can see that's kind of this is pretty pretty tough stuff so that just rolls down and squeeze the air out tightens up and then clips into place these straps here are put onto this specifically to be used with the OE x brand bags they have they have these built-in straps but I've actually managed to use this with any other pack as well and it should be basically just push the straps around so I tend to keep this on the outside of my package i really like that's why it's great that it comes in this dry bag the weight of this when it's packed is 440 grams so it's pretty lightweight it's very little weight in that at all not the lightest one in the world but for the price of around 30 pounds you can't really can't really scoff at that and the fact that it's a little bit chunky and some of the ultralight things doesn't really matter because it's in the dryer bagging because it has these straps it can just go on the outside of your pack which is where I keep it and so yeah I'm not sure at the 2.5 means I did write down but I completely forgot i'm sure you'll be able to get all the very specific specifications online i will post a link to this mat in the description of this video to give you the really technical stuff so let's get the math out and have a look at it so pressing this mat for use is pretty straightforward mean its aroma just checking the ground underneath me to make sure there's nothing sharp that's going to punctuate it as an inflating mat but the material is pretty robust so I'm not I'm not too concerned about that one issue you have is it is slightly difficult to pull it in and out of this bag it is a tight fit but I prefer that rather than having loads of additional space that you don't want taking up work outwards going to go and then we just open this valve here so hopefully the microphones picked up the sound of that air rushing in now one minor floor with this bag that i had this bag this mat not have fun is its ability to self inflate 24 capacity isn't actually that great that's a problem i found with quite a lot of these self inflating strand mat so it's no big issue i'm just going to blow like a four or five breaths of air into that in a minute that's already stopped sucking air in so i'm going to do is blow into that until that i can see it's thickened up

so there we go now if you're going to be doing that and kind of assist in the inflation of it be worried not to over inflate your mat a lot of these match candy laminate I've not heard of these only x1's delaminating at all yet but they can kind of they can start to get a bubble in it we're all the air forces into one section I'm not worried about that happening with this to be quite honest with you it's it's fairly robust it is very very well made I've got it looks like down for you now just to show you what's on the bottom this is a feature that I really like about this mat it's got these rubber sticky pads on it which just stop it moving around while actually sleep and I found this to be really useful when I've been hammock camping anyone who tries to use a roll man inside a hammock you'll know that they have attendance is just slip and slide around this prevents that almost entirely also useful in the bottom of a tent on a ground seat just to stop it sliding around as if you see is quite a this is actually quite a thick mat it's very very comfortable I like that it's got this swell here where your head & shoulders will go and then it tapers off down towards your legs when you've got actually less you moving I've chosen the three-quarter version because I don't need anything for the ends of my feet provider watchman's waterproof on a measly they don't they don't put any pressure on the ground they're not really compress my sleeping bag this provides comfort at the three points or the show you now if I lie down on this immediately feel the effects of that thick thick insulation underneath it and if I get onto my side you can see clearly the points of pressure which will be here around my shoulders I'm stupid and here at my hips have plenty of space it is very very comfortable I really like it makes a big difference having a proper comfortable Matt it's quite soft and squashes without being too soft provides more than ample installation I throw a threat from frozen ground effect on snow expect on wet ground and yeah some of the best night's sleep I've had have been on this map very good so let's have a look at how it packs away so packing this away is pretty state for as well we simply open this valve up here squeeze some of the air out of the map fold it squeeze some further air outlets stop it getting trapped we want to get this compressed down as much as possible then I'm going to roll from the bottom end of the mat as tight as I can just take a little bit of time to ensure you squeeze as much of that air out as you possibly can manage because I said it is a bit of a tight fit getting in the bag tighten the valve up when you're done then comes the tricky bit which is getting it back into the pack once the initial bit is in you can pretty much report it it's just getting it past this tight kind of roll top which is the tricky bit

once it's in so you can kind of use these clips to sort of pull it against your body sorry I'm slightly outshot there let's move forwards like that's better you see how tight the fit is and then we're in then all you need to do is squeeze the air out of the bag ticket top the role the top down and there you go back back in the stuff like I think I've managed to get it in tighter than I had it when we started so folks there you go that easily three-quarter length compact self-effacing max max x 0 x highly recommend it very very happy with this piece of equipment the quality compared to the price is that that's a good ratio there excellent quality for a relatively low price in 30 pounds is significantly less than you can be paying for some very very amor some much more well-known brands which are about the same quality so yeah I highly recommend it thank you all for watching I hope you've enjoyed this video please like share subscribe comment all that stuff for me down in the links in the description box and the description box below this there will be links of words to get this product and links to this very technical specifications of it thank you all for watching and we'll see you in the next video thanks guys
