hi guys got another not way today and today the not I'm gonna be showing you is the Siberian hitch fantastically useful not for setting you die lines and things it's really good particularly in cold weather because it requires very little actual delicate finger movement it's really really easy to tie what you've got the hang of it but it has taken me a while to learn this one but it's actually a fantastically simple knot another added bonus to this knot is once it's tied it's very very quick to untie like super quick to untie it you've got pull one bit of cord and the whole thing comes undone but if you pull the correct piece of cord it's gonna hold almost indefinitely but I'll show you that once it's tied so I'm just go rewrite as a camera now to face where I'm going to be tying it and I'll take you through it a couple of times I want to say before I start though this knot if you're going to try and learn it sit home practice it a few times this is really a muscle memory kind of knot it is quite it seems quite complicated what you've got it you'll find that it's very very simple to do ok so I'll get started ok so what I'm going to do I've got my tree here and my cord so to start with what you need to do take your cord around the tree keep that somewhere you can see it and make sure that on this working loose end you've got plenty of a play and movement in that if it's too short this knot won't work so what I do now is with my left hand because I'm right-handed but you can do it the other way around is what you matter is hold both pieces of that cord then with the loose end I'm going to take that around my hand and then hold the loose bit with my right hand then with my left hand I've point that towards the tree like so point the fingers towards a tree and bring it up over the other side of the long end which would be the guyline then just use my thumb to pull that through nice and simple hope you saw that then I put I like to put my finger through this loop here ok you don't have to do that there's a couple of ways to tie it I personally find this the easiest way of doing it and also that looks important you see why so as I pull that the whole thing pulls tight so I can just work in that backwards and forwards get that rope really tight against the tree get my finger out of there pull it nice and tight as you can see that isn't going anywhere okay so that's how you tie the Siberian hitch then to untie it take this loose and let's dangle in here and simply pull it and that comes undone I'll take you through that again so make sure you've got plenty of cord to play with bring it around your tree you can even bring it round a couple of times if you want to give yourself some added support then hold it with your left hand stops it more cord there hold it with your left hand both pieces with your free hand take it around your hand so you've got this then once you've got that loop using the hand that's got the rope looped around it hold both pieces and make sure this bit is tight with your other hand so that's my working end I'm sorry scrap that last bit hold it with your right hand so this hand is free to move bring your fingers towards the tree bring that up and over and then bring your you're loose working end through that loop along the loop and pull the whole lot as tight as you can gum so I've got that nice and secure there take your finger out and that will act as a guideline so that's really really tight it's not what anywhere but as I said all I need to do is pull the other end a bit that's attached to the loop and out that comes quickly show you that again I'm going to give myself a little bit more chord to play with it did just come undone using two types of cord isn't really ideal or help just tie that up like so using the reef knot if you don't have to tie a reef knot which looks like this please check out my other video on how to tie the reef knot and remember to pull that reef knot tight if you using two pieces of cod

let's go through it just one more time take your working end around the tree more than once if you feel the need to remember taking that cord around the tree a couple of times gives you a little bit of extra tension the whole thing is nice and tight then with your left hand hold both pieces myself a bit more hold both pieces pieces and with your right hand your free hand take the working and around your fingers you need to pull it tight just take it around the fingers then still with your right hand hold both pieces of that cord like so point your fingers towards the tree on your left hand bring it around and over the top of the long end pull this through so you've got this loop so that's what you start with before it gets tied keep hold of that loop so it can't pull itself free and pull a whole lot tight and there's your guideline ready to go yeah to release it get this free dangly bit just pull that through and how it comes so that's your Siberian hitch it's absolutely fantastic for tying Gaia lines and things like that I haven't tried using this from Mohammed yet because it has two pieces of cord but I give it a go and if it works out I'll chalk a video but personally I've only ever really used this one for guidelines and things like I said it's really something particularly in cold weather although tying knots in cold weather is not usually too bad untying them can be quite painful on your fingers when you're fiddling around to queue in cold wet conditions your fingers quite get quite sore and you start losing a little bit of mobility in them so this is fantastic for that so you can just quickly on doing it wrap it all up stick your gloves back on a stay warm as always thank you all for watching please give me a subscribe share this around and give it a go if you've got any other methods of death time that's not police took me a video response whatever I'd quite like to see some different ways of doing it

you
