hi guys what we've got for you today is another look at our setup and this is a wonderful wonderful set up for particularly in the summer it's big it's roomy there's plenty of a circulation in there you can get a small fire going out the front gives you nice big views and it's a very very hot day today it is a really hot day today for you know for Britain it's 22 degrees which Britt is actually pretty warm and I've just been in this tarp and it's significantly cooler in there out of the Sun in the shout of the shade so that is a really good thing about this this setup is one of my favorite summer setups it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to put this up and it requires you to have at least one hanging branch over the top of you there's a number of different ways of doing this if you didn't say a pint for us you can put a cross beam up and but the easiest way to do this is by using an overhanging branch make sure it's a live one and ideally if you've got another one one out the back as well but we'll have a look at that as we go through how to put this shelter up so let's get on and actually put this thing together i'll show you how it's done okay so the first thing that I got to do is I'm going to lecture this branch here and just above mr. be a bit awkward to get the rope over at first because I managed to weight it but what I'm going to do is I'm going to sling this line over and then put an adjustable hitch in it and then once I've done that I'm ready to actually get the tarp or now and make a start on actually getting everything out so let's see if I can do this first time probably not ah so ideally you want to chuck title into your cord to do this but I don't actually have anything to tie to it today look there we go we've got it and then I'm going to put an adjustable hitch in which I've already done a video on how to do this so I'm not going to go into too much detail will have to tie this adjustable hitch and if i remember i will put that in the description box below this video it helps get right first time which I didn't do

or tightened up okay now giving myself plant here working space there now because it's so high up I can't actually adjust this easily what's the tarps up so I'll put another adjustable hitch in it and when I've come to get the tarpaulin out so next stage is to get the tarp out and to actually start configuring this so I'll get the top half of them will come back and show you how to do that ok so the top that I'm using for this is the DD super light tab which is a slight rectangle which is a bit problem with this setup however it's only a slight rectangle on this so and I have tried this setup with this particular type before and I do know that it works ideally for this setup what you want is a squirter pollen and to be honest I rate squirtle pollens far better than rectangular ones anyway they've just they're just much more versatile in terms of the shapes and configurations you can use with them but as I say I have used this for this setup before it does work i'm using it because it is tiny when it's packed up so what I'm going to do is I found a corner of my tarp and I'm going to take my cord which is up at that branch there and take it through the loop of this corner this corner attachment I've got quite a long piece of cord on here but I don't really want to cut it so what I'm going to do is just put another one of those adjustable hitches in and it's really this kind of part that takes the most time here and that doesn't take time at all especially if you know they're not well you use them regularly you can just put them together pretty quick just make sure that's all nice and tight whoops it can be a little bit fiddly with a long piece of cord like this the long piece of cord is more useful than the short piece and that's why I don't really want to cut it one more loop good look tie this off okay so that there is ready to be adjusted when I need it the next stage is to get the corners of this pegged out so let's have a look at how we're going to do that okay so my next stage is to come to the corner that's directly opposite the suspended corner so there we go I put a little bit of a paracord loop in for my wooden tent peg because the built-in loops to this aren't quite large enough and what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna pull that quite tight and try and keep it in a straight a line as i can now we might need to adjust this later what make sure it's really important on this one but you get your peg a good angle otherwise it's that side that's taking all the strain and you don't want your peg to come out so then what I've got to do is I'm going to make myself a couple more pegs let's start to peg out these other corners okay so next stage is to start to peg out those other corners so the ones that are kind of opposite the two points of all you pegged out you can see what I mean it's got to vocalize up okay you can see now excited to really open up a great thing about this super light tarp is that it's got a little bit of stretching it which is really nice it means you can get nice taut edge on it now we have to bang them in with something because it's it's pretty dry out here today the grounds quite solid watch them fingers a good tip when you I'm gonna pegging like this is I always aim towards this side that's away from my hand because i live i do miss it's going to hit the floor keep your fingers out the way be pretty painful he says whilst walking his fingers okay so the next side now is ready to come okay so the last peg that needs to go in it's on this opposite side you can see in there that this really starts to an outline you end with a very spacious kind of shelter again growls bit thrice let's have that in okay

so on to now the final stage which just opens its all right as it is but there is a little thing we can do to really open the interior of this settle out so let's have a look at that okay so the next bit that I've er done here is I found this central point and this is where things go wrong a little bit with the rectangular tarts quite often well one there isn't an attachment point in the center here but this this DD tart does have one and it does fall pretty much center with this configuration and what that does it just raises the whole thing but it does require you to have another branch to hook it to so luckily I've got one just here I'm going to take that over oh I threw it too far open it it over did it and turn it to the wrong branch we go but it's dead out there yeah be careful of you know tying this to any dead branch is that making to come off and this one obviously it's alive tricky to get over when you're five foot three here we go and then you can see that that really pulls it up and gets it really taught okay so ideally what you want here is a really nice taut line on this one more so than you want at the front because this really pulls the whole thing up and makes it certainly warp if I'm really really opens it inside of that all so again I'm going to put one of these little taut line hitch is in and as I said before it's it's a pain but its realness if you're planning on using this setup it is much more beneficial for you to have slightly longer cordage because you know it's unless you know exactly where you're going it's difficult to predict how much line you're actually going to need for this but it is fiddling okay so that is this setup up and ready to go in total it takes usually takes about 5-10 minutes to put this up if you've got suitable branches to hang it from a couple little bits which can be fiddly but it is totally worth it I mean there's tons of space near you could comfortably sleep two people in here a push you could get three people with a little bit of space for kit as well and it's ideal for those of you who like ground-dwelling you know I like my hammock more than anything put in a summer if you're gonna be sleeping on the ground this is an absolutely fantastic set up it's got this nice wide open front so even if is absolutely chocolate down you know you've got this wide open front but because it overhangs itself you've got a nice dry space in which you can work even with the open from tons of space inside to stay dry it gives you a computer this really nice big view out and as I said tons of space inside loads of space for your gear but one of the things I really like about this is that out the out the front of here because everything's suspended so high from a tree and get away from the trees you are able to have yourself a small fire going I wouldn't have anything too big because obviously it's synthetic and if a spark comes up it's gonna pop moles it or worse set it on fire of course we are near trees and tree roots so we don't anything too big and it's going to go down on the ground so you do have to be worried of that but it is a great way to have a fire it's a good setup for an open fire you need your fire close to your 10 ideally I've only ever really used this set up in the summertime because it's big and airy and roomy it gives you plenty of shade if you're out and saying an open field of something you can use it if there's like one tree gives you a really good show while still allowing two to look out obviously you do need some kind of ground map because there's nothing nothing underneath here to keep you going you know it's always carrier a sleeping mat or something like that with you

anyway so there you go that is this tarp set up I haven't quite thought of a name for it yet i'm sure i thought one by the time i put the title in but yeah it's a fantastic little setup as I said it's much better with a squirt art but this rectangular one works really well i mean this DD super light tap i keep going about it the size of actual space that you get inside it when it's set up compared to how small is much pat down is absolutely phenomenal it's a great great setup but it's a great art to do this with so as always thank you all for watching please like share subscribe please do comment and yeah keep watching for more videos thanks everyone
