hello folks and welcome to another video so this is kind of an impromptu one I'm at an undisclosed location in the UK I'm in a really really dense thick forest I mean you can see this forest just goes on pretty much endlessly as far as I can see I was here just two nights ago with Brian Charlie Jack and Richard for Charlie's birthday and lastly the I really wanted to stay but I had to leave the lads had to leave I thought you know what I've got two days off work still so I've come back and I've decided to do a solo trip it should be quite interesting because I haven't done a solo camping trip in quite some time I don't redo that many solo trips simple reason is I like to have some company with me bought really fancy no solo trip today should be quite interesting I'm hoping to do a bit of wildlife spotting there's an absolute abundance of wildlife in here it's kind of an ancient beech forest that's pretty much all beech trees of the odd kind of oak we've got a lime tree just over there just on the way and I've seen two deer three hairs one bite is set loads and loads of different birds

not a single soul not a single other person not even a sign of other people once I got off the off the off the track so this is kind of the outpost that we've been only my second time here but the lads have been putting this together is kind of a minimalist output where we can come and practice skills and just enjoy being out in the woods it's really quiet here I really like that there's nothing but birdsong and there's deer kind of roaring in the background over there

cameras probably not picking it up it's very very faint and tons of there's tons to explore there's a little freshwater spring that the actual source of a spring just down the down the way there so I'm gonna go and get myself some water in a moment that's my first job but then I actually have to link back to the car because I've brought an excess of equipment today because I wanted to do a few gear reviews while I'm out so that's a brings burr battery packs some extra gear that I'm not going to use so I couldn't fit the food in the bag so I've grown it back and get that first port of call is to get some water on and I've brought the stove just to get that boiled nice and quickly we have a quick brew and head back to the car so yeah thought I'd bring you guys along for the trip I'm really looking forward to it it's so peaceful here just bird calls I just don't even recognize it's incredible it's a beautiful sunny day it's around 17 degrees outside a few degrees lower in the forest so I've brought some water some warmer clothing for later on I've gone with my traditional ish setup with the exception of my seat mat and my my sleeping bag what everything else I've got with me excluding the camera gear and the stuff that I'm reviewing is pretty traditional stuff it's all heavy and bulky but my enormous canvas can do pack with me yeah we're looking forward to it something that's on water so folks I've retrieved my food I've set my shelter for the night now my next stage is obviously to get a fire going which is probably my favorite stage so I'm gonna crack on and do that and then I think it's almost time to get some food in me before I go and explore the area

so I'm just going to do now realize that when I'm about to get my food I'd forgotten my eating utensils so it's just really quickly roughing out a functional eating item it's nothing beautiful nothing pretty by the time I'm done it will be mostly functional nothing too fancy stopping about ten minutes to get to this stage and I'm getting pretty hungry so I've not put any sort of real care into the craft of it and I'm just at the bit that's but really we the most time consuming now and I'm just putting the bowl into the spoon using my fantastic then off a crock knife and it is due for a wee bit of a sharpen I think but we'll manage for today that's really what I love about being out here and what I love about bushcraft skills is I've forgotten a minor item line item which is key to one activity which is eaten and just by having a few skills and the your belt you can overcome the issue of that relatively simply and this these issues that we have warming out in the woods these little items that we forget or things that we deliberately come out without it's really fundamental to holding your skills you your wilderness skills our outdoor skills charred on the outside perfect on the inside so there we go dinner's up gonna be charred dinner on the outside but this sweet potato ah that's spot-on perfectly cooked what it is good this is the fish cup three that's absolutely spot-on you

so back at the camp now you know I think there's certain things which cannot be conveyed through video or language or certain things that I'm trying to there's a real atmosphere out here and though in the in the woods they I'm trying to capture it for you guys to see but it's just not doing it any justice I've got about an hour and a half before the Sun starts to set at which point I'm gonna head back down to where I sort of badges at earlier and see if I can shoot some footage of them it's been a really nice afternoon I haven't done anything I've made a spoon I've sat by the fire I've made some notes I practice few skills I have done a few kit reviews of different things yeah this is what it's all about this is bushcraft at its finest not doing anything not pressing are longer a trail or anything like that just sitting enjoying being in nature so that was pretty interesting and nice to see somebody's out about but now it is about half past ten I think that means time for bedtime so I will catch you all in the morning all folks

good morning made it through the night it's about 6 a.m. here now slept really well except fantastically well actually and despite the fact that I kept rolling off my ramaa because I didn't realize it jumped on a slight slope nothing too major still - to stay warm more blanket makes a surprisingly good role map beneath a sleeping bike plenty of wildlife skip rocks getting around this morning I made a bit of a mess of my area that I'm sleeping as I got I got about 4 o'clock this morning set up a few time lapses and obviously I was a bit dazed from just waking up and it was dark so I got to tidy up first but I think the first call of the day is to get a blue one and get some hot water going so I can have some porridge so I've had breakfast I've had some coffee and all I'm doing now is I'm basically waiting for these burn ends of the fire to burn away so that I haven't got burnt ends gas around or take out with me that means that what I come to put it out shortly there's very little embers left I can just pour some water on spread the ashes out cook the area up and you'll never know I was here much better to burn the ends off in the morning if you can then to have to take them away I'm also airing out my sleeping bag it is a down bag so I've obviously slept and it was very warm in there last night so just airing that out to make sure it's not down put a packet away and just generally check in the area make sure a little bit to my things I've got scattered pretty sure they haven't I've restocked the firewood but the lines next time they come or whether or not I joined them all up always good to replenish supplies if you're using a space like this you know don't want to use everything up and then leave them to be nothing left everybody else which is basically your good the good mantra for all of life I think really a slow-burning fire this one now I'm just basically but I'm trying to pack in lots of tiny pieces so it's not getting the best earth flow in the world get some of these little twigs on the start pulling some of that heat three then once all that's done I'll pack up and head off home because it even though it's great today I've to check I have just check the weather forecast turn my phone on for the first time and it is set to not be horrible later but not as nice as it is now so I want to make the best of this sunshine so I want to get out from under the trees to where it's sunny

okay folks so there you go that is the camp taking down I've cleared the fireplace we put up fluffed up the leaves next to where I was sleeping so you would never know that I was here unless you're a very good tracker so the only thing left to do now is to head back to the car with my enormous pack with all the extra gear that I was reviewing in it and to say thank you for watching himself thank you for watching and I will see you in the next video please do like comment subscribe and please please please share my stuff around that's probably bout the best thing you can do for me is by sharing my videos so thank you all for watching and I will see you in the next video so what happens you can buy mountaineering gear with bushcraft ear for kit reviews it's nearly as big as me
