Kit Review; Gelert Apollo Stove

hi guys what we're going to review today is we're going to have a look at the gellert Apollo backpacking stove three small lightweight peers like this so when it comes in comes a nice little ripstop bag with a poor cord on it and it's quite small and compact it's not the smallest backpacking stove in the world the reason I've decided to go for this one is because when you open it outlets on the ground it's a really nice sturdy why faced cooker so let's have a look at it the actual stove itself looks like this it's got three legs and this little ring here looks a bit wonky now but when you open those legs out they actually snaps into place and holds the whole thing together and that's nice and wide and it's it's really comfortably on the ground there okay so it doesnt sit on top of your gas port on it's one of the ones with the kind of way I don't know the technical name for this is what's got one of the little tubes that going with it so let's set that up so it's got one but thats cruising here really nice and simply get that nice and tight and then pull this off this is brand new give it a go we have not tried it yet literally got this today so let's attached here so it attaches to a self-sealing butane canister I've got quite a large kind of stuff for doing reviews and stuff you can get much smaller ones on this that touches on there a problem with these coleman canisters is tend to find sometimes a little bit you have to really screw this in really really tight so there we go that's that attached to the hope it the right way up flip it around okay so that wise a little bit stiff at the moment so just give that a bit of a bend there we go pick somewhere nice and sturdy for it and then we'll just turn this on one thing one little feature I like about this if you haven't got a lighter or match written with you it does have a clicker to actually ignite it so we'll try that now I've got a light on me just in case just in case that is a not great let's try it out Oh ok that is actually 3ds so the test for this now

is to foil tin of waters let's see how it goes on that sits on a nice and comfortably and we'll have a look at how quickly that Royals so we'll turn that for you

okay starting now okay there we go that's timing okay so this has been going for I've just got to stop wats but three minutes and 50 seconds and a pretty impressed actually this though because if we just put now if you have a look at here we're now on to a rolling boil and this isn't even on the full power this can go so if I was to have this on a bit a bit more power it had been boiling I think in about half the time I mean we add hot water within the first two minutes just took a little bit longer to actually boil all then so there you go guys that is the the killer Apollo back package though very very impressed with it a lot of these stoves problems with a lot of these stores but that's been home it's the fact that they sit on top of the gas canister which has a tendency to make them very unstable they fall over and because they're much higher that the wind and rain us of getting underneath and takes like the heat wave because this is low down it's very very easy to put it somewhere where you're going to protect that heat I mean there's lots of these little holes in the ground here and I could quite easily sit this in the nice and comfortably to protect it from the elements a little bit so the only thing left to do now is to get everyone with our boiling water but I'm not going to pick it up with my fingers because it is hot so I'm going to use a stick there we go okay course one thing to remember with any of these stoves is not to touch this immediately after you finish using that's going to be that's going to be hot for a while so I'll leave that there well I have a brewing by the time we've got a brutal cool down we can pack it away and carry on what we're doing thank you for watching guys
