you

so first thing we're going to be looking at in terms of our keeping warm in the coal thing is one of the piece of equipment there's one bits of pieces need to take with you which i think is quite undervalue but actually really really important and what we're going to be looking at today is you brew kit okay so i keep my brew kit in this and this old Kendal mint cake tin it's slightly larger than the kind of tobacco style things you use to get we'll have a look at why that's important in a bit just means you can fit a little bit more in it so first of all I wanna talk about why your brew kit is so important now I'll give a bit more detail as we go on but the brew kit is really important for a number of reasons so first off it means you know you can have a nice hot drink particularly the winter this is important getting a hot drink inside you is absolutely vitally important it helps keep you warm it can give you an extra bit of energy and it's a real morale booster if it's been bad whether it's freezing cold you've been out all day get a nice hot drink in yourself it's really really important and that's pretty much all of us to say about about that kind of side of things brew kit is really important now I've chosen this Romney's Kendal mint cake tin for the fact that it is slightly larger it's slightly longer there's a square as well so you can fit a little bit more in it and I've also got wrapped around it quite a sturdy rubber band elastic band that's just to keep it kind of all together so that if it's in your pack or whatever it isn't going to come open it isn't gonna get wet and damp and all your stuff isn't going to spill out now I tend not to keep this in my pack and join the winter I keep it in my top pocket my washer here simply because it's easily accessible and I can just get the stove open really quick and get a brew one really using that I'm to unpack all my bag okay so let's have a look at what I've got inside this so this is the tin as it is to put that elastic band off there and let's have a look inside so inside here really simple I've got a couple of tea bags and I've got no sugar or milk andertons take my tea black with no sugar so that's just a personal preference it means I've got less to carry with me so those are my tea bags I always have a couple of sachets or coffee again i would take this coffee black to save me I'm to carry milk around occasionally put a bit of powder milk in there but I tend not to carry

it's just a bit of a faff and it's not that good if I do want a a white coffee I carry some of these nescafe 3m1 and coffees with sugar now these are absolutely fantastic but a bit of sugar in them which gives you a little bit of extra energy and the dead guy studies and make the only problem with these is the sachets as you can probably see and have quite a lot of air in them okay which means that when you come to fold it to put in your Tim especially using a smaller tin that extra air content takes up quite a bit of space so one little trick that I do with these I'm just going to show you really quickly is that just pierce a very tiny hole in it like so okay that means now that I can get this all down towards the bottom tip of it going out there then fold over might not seem like much but that she saves an awful lot of space in your brew kits just means I can fold up much more nicely and it packs away now I can usually fit about four of these in here with some tea bags and a couple of these sachets now the other thing that I carry with me is a couple of these oxxo cubes and these are absolutely fantastic on the right thing to put in your brew kit and I've got a chicken one and I've got a beef one here these are fantastic the beef what were both of them actually you can make a really good drink out of this it's really filling really high especially when it's really cold and they keep pretty much forever and the nice little cubes so they just stack away really nicely into the corner there and only thing to watch for if you are make a drink out of these is the quite very very salty not quite salty the really salty so they can leave you feeling a little bit dehydrated to make sure you've got some water with you as well and to have to you know to go go with this just to kind of rehydrate yourself afterwards the other reason I like to carry the Israelis and they're absolutely fantastic for when you're doing cooking and stuff so if you make a bit of a stew or whatever you've got a couple of these in your brew kit so you can either use them for cooking or for making a drink absolutely wonderful little things the dead cheap as well and they start really nicely now this brew kit as it is is just kind of packed but pretty much in the overnighter so I've got three cups of tea and three cups of coffee and then a couple of these so cube as well if I was going out for a prolonged period of time I'd stack a little bit more stuff in here pack a bit more into it i'm just going to close at all part of me now the only problem we put an extra stuff in this is you start to an outer space very very quickly so there is a couple of alternatives that i use personally for packing my brew kit and the main thing that i use is this scout scout team mode so it's got a lid on it which keeps everything together nice normal morgue it's not going to break or anything in your in your pack and the metal does mean that your bruise going to go cold and much faster and you have to be careful it's fresh because that metal does get hot however what this does provide you with is quite a lot of additional space in which to pack your brew kit you can fit an absolute ton of stuff in one of these mugs especially they're having a lid on just what elastic band around the top same as the other one My Mind's a little bit and health to the top here the lid and the only issue with that the only real problem with that is that when you come to make a drink in you cook you've got to take everything out to make you drink ready to put it back in again so your little alternative is using a bit of talk whether I try not to use topper were because and for one I prefer my slightly more traditional methods I know it's got like a rubberized lid on it but never mind and the other thing is because those square they are quite bulky and they're quite difficult to pack if you've got a lot of stuff especially to get out for a week-long trip or something that's debris really really nice and simple and Teddy's it do but often overlooked in the planning stage I mean for me the brew kit is really really important good hot drinking yourself good cup of tea cup of coffee ox 0 cube nice warm drink drink especially in the mornings through the winter when it's really cold in the mornings a nice hot drink is the best thing to have and also another thing chucking there's a couple of sachets a hot chocolate they're great for the evenings and when you getting ready to sleep so I hope this has been useful to you guys and thank you for watching you
