hi guys what I've got for you today is a kit review and today I'm going to be reviewing this which is the whole to pause craftsman knife this particular knife doesn't belong to me belongs to my cam man who is new to bushcraft and we went out to get my night to get him started the other day and we came across this one it's a good knife it's got a really good price on it I think this one was about 15 pounds so it's really good if you're worried about damaging the first night that you get and as you're just kind of starting out but it's quite a good life even if you're well if you're you know relatively into your voice craft and want a decent life now a couple of things about it just won't clap noise or things go first it's got about a 5-inch blade on it its carbon steel and honestly I'm not sure where that blade comes up to this handle if it feels pretty sturdy and hultafors or a renowned make so I'd imagine that it's got a good a good handle on that ok another bonus I found with this knife as I said my cameraman is quite new to bushcraft than one of the things I found when I start out was that I had a habit of just putting things down after I'd used it because my brain was kind of working in overtime to think about what I was doing and you put things down and most of the high end gear its kind of green and brown or its coordinates natural colors and you lose them well this one has a really nice bright orange hand line ok it's a plastic handle it's it's quite a rough handle so you've got a good grip on that and it's got a little finger guard just here now as I said it's a carbon steel blade it's about five inches long it's got a scandi grind bevel on it which is really really good I'm not sure you'll pick that up on the camera there the Skandar going bevels are really great if you're starting out because even though you sacrifice a tiny bit of the sharpness on it getting the angle correct for sharpening them with this kind of gun is very very easy and I'll do a little bit of a video on that but that is a bit of a bonus over the round bell or knives that you'll quite often fine if you are starting out and push craft so that's the knife okay the knife comes in one of these plastic

sheeds it's really good it's hard plastic I'm not tape not quite sure what a plastic it is you could bend that quite easily I don't think what snap it would probably bend but it is actually pretty sturdy it's got a decent belt clip on it with this little hole here for fastening things in and also at the bottom of this you'll see there's a whole which is really useful if you're out in the rain these plastic cheese can fill up with water that whole means that water will drain out of it really easily and it's not going to damage your knife too much so long as you stay on top of maintaining it now the blade on this is quite a thin blade actually I'm used to a much thicker blamed Mike the blades on my eyes are using about an inch thicker than this one but that's not a problem and in terms of the edge that it comes with it's got a really really good edge on it it's really sharp and its carbon steel so it means it will keep its edge really well and cost-effectiveness like said 15 pounds where you can't really go wrong with that and if you damage or lose it after a few uses you know you can go and get out another one a lot of these I kind of view them as almost disposable knives but you know you don't have to see it like that that's just my personal preference I prefer more traditional looking handles so you go that's the Horta fours craftsman life you can find them online and a lot of shops now stop and particularly shops like electrical electrical shops they've got a lot of workman's tools in the Horta Falls range so as always thank you for watching please subscribe show my video around if you would if you'd like to see me review anything or if you like to see me doing anything please drop me a comment and thank you for watching cheers guys
