all right everyone I've got another recommended bit of kit for today and today what I'm looking at something I'm really really excited to talk about something I absolutely love something quite a simple little thing but I'm really happy to talk about it and the guy that made it and what I'm looking at today is this which is a folding saw sheath which is handmade by Paul door was cracked and so yeah really happy with this before i get started about how it's made and the poor dog thing I wanted to talk about why I see look this piece of kit for what it is rather than how it's made and I've been asked one of these quite a while but I've kind of a lot of them that I've seen I've just been way way over priced and I kind of toward the idea of making me own but saw this my poor Dom I do not want you I'll get one of him seelix lightning the reason I wanted such a long time is that these Laplander fallen sauce absolutely fantastic polling swords in general very very useful bit of kick to have around camp however particularly these laplander ones doing this lovely olive green khaki color and I have a habit of putting this thing down once I finish so I my firewood just do have it just put it down on the floor with the intention of going back to get it up later on and then suddenly you realize you can't find it lights dropped a little bit you can't remember exactly where you put it difficult to find so having one of these shoes on your belt is really really useful and it's a dangler sheath I'm going to have a look at that in a minute but it's got a dangler it's got dangle on it but it can also be put straight onto the belt I prefer to use it with dangler and yeah very very well-made let's have a look at the construction of it so the construction of this sheath is that it's made primarily from 3.5 mil veg tan leather and then that leather is dyed with a natural oil based die and generally find those or leather work that's died in those oil-based dies is much better because when it gets wet or damp as these things do when you're outdoors you know the dye is a girl leach out because it's oil-based the majority of the actual thing is held together by stitching and this is really I see a lot of this stuff was just riveted together which is fine it works well but it's just not as nice as that's a quick fix and you sent to find the riveted and overpriced this is hand-stitched using a in this version in this case it's a yellow linen thread I chose the colors and we like that you can see on both sides and the stitching is then finished up at the top here with a little copper rivet again that's quite important that rivet just stops the i'll stop the stitching from fraying and coming apart means of that bit can't comment on the edges are all finished off nicely again a lot of this leather work that's just the cottage these have been chamfered off finished and told and told you know really really good work and the same thing can be seen throughout you know really nicely done very very nicely made indeed the back the belt loop is again it's stitched and riveted so you know you've got to two forms the copper rivets so that isn't going to come off anytime soon and the fact that the copper rivets I really like I don't know whether it's intentional or not identifying you get a lot of these zinc plated kind of cheap metal rivets and once they work what happens with a lot of this stuff is if they get rusty and they break easily and they come apart and as they rushed the leather around them goes pretty pretty horrible so your copper rivets very very good so it's going to take the actual soil and I'm moving on to the dangler again real like this this is solid brass proper toilet brush there's no gap underneath it I can't really show you but there's no gap in there it's a solid piece of brass it's not gonna break easily it's not going to rust it's not going to corrode that fitting is excellent that's not coming off you know it's riveted on here it's fastened to it's not gonna fall off it's not going to break we've got brass solid brass press studs throughout the dangler loop as well which is removable as i said i will show you that in just a moment and the leather itself is stand with the pole door logo so we got the pole door logo here which is the the paw print logo and poor dog bushcraft we have that on the main thing as well nice little logo it's on the back is what I really like the fact that it's on the back and not on the front you know it's got his logo on it which is great so you remember where you got it from it's a nice logo it's not too obtrusive on the actual piece of equipment and it's not on the main thing you know I really like that I get real straight with a lot of the brands were you know the the brands are slapped all over the piece of equipment and especially when it's nice handmade stuff like this it really detracts from the item itself which I find to be quite a shame so let's have a look at the dangler working very clever designing this normally with these dangler she's or seeds in general you have to undo your belt take everything off thats in the way put it on to where you want it then put all you other stuff back on and your way to go however don't need to do that with this particular sheet as I will demonstrate now to put my trousers back on so because it's using brass press studs what i can do is take the first tool part which allows the sheet to drop off then there's one more was just on pops and can be placed or put under my belt hook make sure you actually close it like the cliq so there we go that's on that's not going anywhere and pull that pretty hard to actually get that out I actually have two one pop it and a good solid solid pop is you know not loose fitting ones plus a doormat on goes the saw again itself pop them back in give them a check and we're way to go the other thing I really like about this is it doesn't just quit the Laplander it's a range of different falling saws and also it's tight-fitting and this is important that push it in and if I knock that it's not going to come out it's not going to snuggle me with all that to actually yet to actually pull it out I have to hold on for the sheath remove it use it and then it can go back in good tight fit so I've got a couple of Danglars shoes for some of my knives they're often fail to fall out even though they've been molded you know they do fall out so I've had to attach little clips onto them no worry about happening with this don't even need to wet mold it into the shape the saw fits perfectly very very nicely made very very useful bit kit and affordable I think he sells these at around 30 to 35 pounds which were handmade leather sheath is very very very good quality for your money so I'm gonna have a bit of talk about Paul duré bushcraft himself that's the sheath it's a nice sheath it's very very well made sorry it's a saucy it's very well made its handmade you can see that a lot clearer and lovers actually got into making this thing I really like that there's not a great deal more I can say about it because you know it's a leather sheath that's well made that that's pretty much it in a nutshell however I did want to talk about poor doors stuff himself and one of the reasons why I really like his gear one obviously it's good quality and it's not massively overpriced you can make your items in pretty much any color if you go on his website which is linked down the bottom you see that he's also doing stuff in like bright hot pink which i think is quite funny but actually kind of useful because you know you ain't going to lose that in the forest if you put it down all the thing that I really like about him is if you go on his website and look at the items that he's producing there's a little story which goes with each one you don't get this in many places at all I really like this because it shows the thought process behind making a functional quality piece of equipment each item that he's got you know it explains how he came up the idea and then and also shows I'm quite a lot them had the process of actually making the thing and how it came to be there's a squirrel fighting over there and that's I think that's quite an underrated feature of a lot of a lot of stuff you know most the time when we buy equipment it's been manufactured by a company somewhere we know it works for no it's functional whatever you know this is handmade stuff this is proper this is proper Bushmaster you know it's natural natural materials for the most part there's a story behind it the guys got I think about 20 years of experience making making making leather items and again you know the not ridiculously overpriced a lot of the very commercial stuff is so so so expensive in some of the larger leather traders the price is that they're charging is the reason why I've only just actually purchase one of these so yeah that's poured or bushcraft it's the company this is the folding saw sheath there's a range of different leather goods on his website get over there check it out read some the stories the guy's great too to kind of trade with two what's the word he's bit was a great customer service anyway that's what I'm trying to get out the word just completely went out my head them and he trades I think on ebay possibly certainly etsy and it is a lot of trading on facebooking a lot of the British bushcraft groups on Facebook so i'll put links to all those places in the bottom i'm not sure about the ebay wanna Cartman but whether he
