Condor Elite Titan Assault Pack | Tactical Backpack | Field Review

Description

Krik of Black Owl Outdoors takes a look at the Titan Assault Pack from Condor Elite, the top of the line gear from Condor Outdoors. Recently we were contacted by Michael over at Condor and he asked if were interested in reviewing any of their new line of packs. After looking it over we decided on the Titan Assault Pack. Constructed of 500D Cordura and sporting a dividable main compartment, The Titan is just about the perfect backpack for day trips and, depending on skill level, short over-nighters. If the external pockets on the sides of the pack were replaced with water bottle pockets, Krik and stony may stop the everlasting search for the "perfect bag"...

hey wassup Turtles Creek here today I'm going to be sharing with you the Condor Lee tightness all pack which is the pack hanging from me hanging behind me excuse me from that hemlock tree and a condor sent the server to us and if you're not familiar with condor lead it is condor outdoors what this is their elite line which as the name suggests is a little bit higher quality offering from them I've been using this pack for probably about a month and a half and I felt it was time finally to do its overview but I want you to stick around to the end of the video because I have a few announcements special announcements concerning this pack but for now let's take a look at the pack since I got the bag hanging from the tree Mazal talk about the grab handle right here I got this really super feel SuperDuper SuperDuper eyes texture the top of the grab handle here try to lift it up a little bit and get an idea of it and this is on the bottom of the pack too but we'll see that when we get there come to the side you can see box and edge excuse me you know a little heavier duties stitching line right there going through it a lot really heavy duty grab handle that's just allowing me to hang this pack waited from the tree the pack is made from 500d Cordura and originally I think they're using thousand d but through their testing they opted for the 500 d which I really really like but you can see the front star this pocket right here hook and loop field on the front a small zipper pocket which I myself in in here for purposes this is the iPhone 6 for size reference and it just barely fit so anything bigger you might have a problem but the straps that come for the bottom I'll show you that later you can see it's it's padded inside this four for optics and like Tronics you can imagine you know you don't wanna scratch your screen now we're moved to the admin panel and I kind of wish it would zip a little bit farther down so I get a full clamshell but not a deal-breaker just a little personal preference small flashlight in there my notebook so I write most of my videos in moleskin set behind all that and then just obviously small little places to put things

my code is pretty deep open now riding in there you want back up a little bit Sony put my hand down here my hands coming the whole way here so you can potentially get something this large just ride in this pocket see this little pocket right here it's kind of goofy cuz it's upside down but one zipper on that another pass behind pocket right here it's in there we'll beat up pencil and realize that was in there I'll add it to the other spoon you know nothing fancy just admin panel a lot of organization so I like these tactical bags because of the admin panels and all the organization you get throughout the pack one of the cool features about this pack is it has a front access down here and I'll get into that more I just have a bunch of hammock stuff laying there's two straps and actually two hammocks you can see right I got the top of this pack full but where is it well it's actually kind of a trapdoor in a sucker in a second or not a second but a divider potentially turning this pack into you know two compartments two main compartments if you will

I'm not going to unzip er this but you can see the zipper tracks it sort of be u-shaped with the pack so you can unzip with this if you want lay this down and this whole internal can be one one pocket but I've sort of been using it with two and I've been sometimes I have my water bottle riding in there for easier access but it's kind of a unique feature on this bag that I haven't really seen or tactical bags I've seen it you know one um one back packing bags for sure it's not an uncommon feature but for tactical bags I really haven't seen it so that's really cool so feature one of the features I like about this bag now we're looking at the side of the pack zipper pocket right here and barely fitting in there or my binoculars you can see inside there though there's two stash pockets slip pockets there's one on this side that has sort of elastic bungee oh here's where they are these are the tightening bolts for my my takedown recurve knew they were floating around somewhere safe and then posing side to you have another little stash pocket and each side is the same there's a there's a pocket on the other side but moving up from a top on top of the pocket two compression straps on each side so four total on the bag cord keeper on their hook and loop three prong buckle on their one above it so it's kind of nice because you can potentially just keep this pocket open if you want to put something long like tent stakes or anything you can use your imagination sort of anchor it here and then start it behind the compression straps this exact same as the other side pocket in here same exact size reference got my belt pouch just you know for size same stash pockets one on each side of the Pooh opposing sides of the pocket and two compression straps above that we have loops down here those two loops to attach tools to it's that same really thick rubberized material got your anchors here for their straps that I showed that we're in the fleece lined pocket the first pock we looked at and here's actually a covered drain hole obviously that nylon without that a material is acting like a screen it's nothing's going to go inside the pack but water can still saturate that and drain out if it needs to but I really do like this I really like this grip this rubberized material on the bottom flip the bag around now we're going to take a look at everything we can see from the back and these shoulder straps I really like and you know what they remind me of the the straps the shoulder straps that were on the rush 72 that 511 rush 72 and it doesn't have the same yoke system how the straps are attached to the bag with just the feel the thickness sort of the rigid this of the other straps and I like that

I like that and there's a sternum strap on here you know it's nice because of the elastic material to stretch if you're moving on the pack your chest is going in and out but one feature I really like about this because it is adjustable it rides on this ray'll but you can see these little slits in here right so it's really easy really convenient to take this off and I really don't use sternum straps so I know honestly I take this off and have no love lost nothing missing on the pack and that's just a nice little feature it really is I don't really ever see that on bags and on each shoulder strap there's a quick-release buckle you stand there own tactical bags but it's worth mentioning get these straps out of the way we'll look at this back compartment because this pack is hydration compatible and look right here get that one zipper two on there this is covered zipper track on there and sort of the thicker of them frame sort of frame material is right in here you can carry laptop back here - OH - fit about a 14 15 inch laptop up here we got a couple of loops couple anchors for your bladder and you can see right there's the exit hole slit for a tube of your bladder the bags really comfortable but this padding right here for the shoulder blades and down the lumbar will move down there in a second well you know what reminds me I keep saying that today but the first time I saw this and it's sort of like peaks and valleys and waves and troughs that's right and we eat in the trough the first time I saw that wasn't a direct action bag was it the dust that we did I really really really liked that how that padding was designed and this has the same type of like I said peaks and valleys underneath this mesh it's very comfortable with off a little bit of air airflow for the hotter hotter parts of the year again super super comfortable moving down the lumbar super comfortable because the features that seem like I said we've inch off sort of underneath the mesh up and down up and down and got this rubberized texture material at the very bottom of the lumbar and then it rolls around on the hip belt as well and this is removable the hip belt removable removable I'm not going to do it because they're kind of a pain to take on and off but if you if you don't want it there you can definitely take it off and the hip belts themselves are nice and padded as well and something I want to mention how this pack came you can store this little extra piece of ply like I forget with this card someone reminded me let me know what is this you know peace call that goes in in line I forget but either way each one came like this each strap and the fellow a condor asked them you know why did you do this because you can't obviously cinch right it keeps the strap at a fixed fixed length and he said well if you're going to be carrying a lot of stuff hanging off this webbing on the hip belt you're going to have increased weight and this just as low extra security so this the hip belt strap isn't going to slide or move around

on around on you if you got extra weight hanging we can see on this side it's not there right and this little keeper right here I just have it hid and I could just take this off if I really wanted to but I kept it on just for this video cuz I want I want you to see you know what comes with the pack I think that's pretty much most thing I think all we have left to do is open up that main compartment I don't really have this backpack too super super authentic and what's kind of cool the feature you see I just done unset and when you do keep that a sort of trapdoor I want to call it trapped or just that partition that the this as its own compartment is a full clamshell you can see that as it opened up so it's got my water bottle riding in there right now extra layer because it is fall it's nice right now but you never know when that cool breeze is going to come in a couple of snacks and a whole bunch of rope a whole bunch of rope we're gonna do something with this set let's do some of this later today so aside to keep in it actually you can actually get a better view start the zippers right there so you can just run that track fold this down or up whatever you want and that opens up to one big compartment right here it's nice on this side if your zipper pocket and I just have a fixed blade ridin in there right now and a silky saw again the reason why I like tactical bags there there are some things I do not like about them I'll talk about that the end but one of the main reasons I like this bag is construction and the organization all over the bag I want to take this bag off though off the tree in and get it on my body I was getting a little ahead of myself

and I want to talk about a few things before I put it on from my opinions and I really like this bag I really do it's a 40 liter bag which is a super versatile size it's very very versatile in the sense that it's enough in the winter you can carry extra gear for a day bag you can definitely do overnight multiple day depending on the weather with this bag but just a 40 liter bag is super versatile without being said and it being a tactical bag I don't like all the webbing over you took what you took took the webbing off or just left a few choice on there it would be so much better to me that's his personal preference it's taking nothing away from the bag but on a positive note one thing I really like about this bag is the suspension in the padding and one of my grapes with law tactical bags was that the suspension system and the padding was just basically built it just seemed for military military applications and what I mean by that is then really not worried about comfort not consumer comfort it's just more of a piece of equipment that's durable it's not going to going to worry about it breaking you know if you're going to be using this for potentially you know in a tactical setting or a combat setting but for me I'm a consumer I don't have to worry about that I want comfort and I really am happy with with the padding on you know behind the shoulders in the lumbar like I said that valley and trough underneath that the hip belt is really nice and then on the side of the hip belt you got it tensioner right here which is a feature starting to see more and more on tactical bags that usually was reserved for hiking and backpacking so I just wanted to mention that I really like the suspension system but now I'm going to put it on and show you how it rides I go through the same process when every time I put a bag on first thing I do is get the hip belt or not hey Bill the shoulder straps pretty much where I want them yeah okay shows about good and I'm moving on to the hip belt thread this through here so I get a center pull on this tightening you can see Mauro saying about this is a fixed fixed length over here so I want to do this right now this is I'm going to be the one that moves but I will change that after this nice and secure really got a nice a nice positive contact the whole way around my hips and where is it let me show you the other one - I want that mic wire hanging out in the frame again over here that's already pretty much where it is okay and me back me back up you can see it I'm going to a 360 just so you can see the bag how its riding on my torso about 5 feet 9 inches 165 pounds all right again don't laugh don't judge me but one reason I like that I said the suspension system in the hip belt is that when I sort of rock my hips back I can feel there's a lot of grip through like I said there's that extra rubberized material the lumbar pads really nice it's sitting exactly where I want it and usually when I want to pack I can do that I know it fits me well and it's a it's usually a well designed suspension system that's what I'm trying to say so what I really do like about this pack is that front access down at the bottom which I showed you and the fact that you can zip or unzip or that piece to either make it a two compartment or single compartment bag that's really cool I really like that I like the suspension system I like how basically fits my body and that's like super specific to my body type but on top of that I really like the padding they used the features of the hip belt being able to cinch it to the center as a feature you don't see in a lot of tactical bags yet where I have it at least so those are things I really like about the pack in the organization you know tactical bags always have great organization some of the things I don't like and if you watch the channel you know exactly what I'm going to say maybe is that there's no water bottle pocket on the outside and these pockets just don't hold a water bottle I really really really really prefer and stony does as well he's back there we're not paying attention but he's he's agreeing with me and spirit that um he likes packs with water bottle pockets too and if it had that this pack would be like it would go so much higher my personal preference is not a not a you know a con for the construction and design anything that that's just personal preference and like I said also the the amount of webbing on it I just don't like packs with that much webbing on it but I use tactical bags because they're well-built they're durable usually you got earth turns and that's why I decided you know to take this pack and review and test it out for Condor but also in general why use tactical tight bags or for those reasons I mentioned for those of you that stuck around through this long video now this special announcements Condor was kind enough to send us a discount code this packs going for about $150 on Amazon from Condor when Condor elite calm its but they sent us a coupon code for us blackout 15 is the coupon code that's in the description the link to the website will be in description below 15% off so $159.95 15% discount makes this a super super affordable and I believe a really really great buy for what you're getting for for this pack also second special announcement is we will be doing a giveaway not this pack the same pack a brand new pack Titan assault pack we'll be doing a giveaway so stay tuned for that and like to thank Condor for signing this back over to us for a review if you have any questions about anything I didn't go over in detail or any specifics drop a comment let me know this is Craig with black ow later Turtles
