Wood Frog at Stony Creek in December

Description

While out at Stony Creek in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania to shoot some gear reviews, we stumbled upon this little guy. His common name is Wood Frog. His latin name is Rana sylvatica. We found him hopping underneath rhododendron located only 10 feet from Stony Creek herself. The wood frog should be hibernating in the leaf litter at this time of year, but it was an unseasonably warm day in early December.
