hey what's up Turtles Creek here with blackout outdoors and today I'm going to be sharing with you my favorite EDC multi-tools in case you don't know EDC stands for everyday carry and that's specific to each individual because our needs different from one another so for me when I look for an EDC multi-tool I'm looking for something that works just as well in the forest as it does at home in the city or the suburbs and I figured out my system pretty well that I don't need a multi-tool that's centered around a plier plier design because the ones I've shown and will show you in a minute are small compact they're lightweight and obviously they have a bunch of tools hence the word multi-tool and if you watched any of our other videos concerning folding knives you've heard me say that I don't like my pockets full of junk and gear I just don't like bulky pockets because if I have to bend down to the ground or bend my knees too much in the pocket can poke you and just uncomfortable so that forces me to put some tools on my belt but I still don't like bulky things on my belt if you watch the channel enough or seen our Instagram you know that I'm a leather worker and a tinkerer that allows me to make specific gear for my needs and in this instance I'm going to show you two sheets I made for these small multi tools and first up for my favorite multi-tool is the Victoria Knox field master and this is the sheath I made for it and it's made out of all leather but this is wet molded and when I pull the tool out you'll see the sheet still keeps its exact form and I like wet molded because it holds the tool tight without any additional flap or any additional type of security what I don't like about excuse me what I don't like about wet molding is that there's a lot of waste in the process but I decided to make this one just to try it out and I've probably been wearing this at least for a year now almost every single day and I'll show you that I've been switching back and forth but the sheath has seen a lot of wear and it's still holding up really really well so here's the tool this is just the classic Victorian ox and this is the field master edition like I said we've already done a video on this and the reason why I like this specifically for an EDC is because the quality is there with Victorinox you hear that name you know it means quality they have the history with the tools every tool that needs to be sharp on this field master comes very very sharp I do not need to touch this up at all the edge and I am kind of anal about having sharp edges and this comes just how I'd like it and the most important reason why I use the Victorinox and guess MacGyver used one let's take a look at some of the tools that I use the most first off first up being is plain edged blade I use this tool probably the most and this specific model of field master has another small blade which I really like for heavy utility utility tasks because I can keep one knife sharp and then dedicate the smaller blade if I you know have a chance of maybe damaging the sharp edge the second tool I use most often and pretty much my EDC tasks I'll talk on the woods are these scissors I love having scissors one these multi tools and that's a feature I look for that I wouldn't buy one if they don't have a pair of scissors and I'm really confident and pretty good with a knife I use a knife every single day in some form but having a pair of scissors allows you to do intricate work around something that may be a blade this might be a little bit too big for so I love a pair of sharp scissors on a multi-tool now the tools that I consider important for woods use is a wood saw obviously I don't use this as much in the EDC setting I mean if I'm not in the forest but because I'm picking tools that work well in the forest and at home this wood saw is very important to be on that tool in the last tool I'm going to share with you today that I like on this for woods use and this has more practicality for everyday than just the saw wood the wood saw is a very sharp all and it's not just a piece of metal coming to a point that some multi-tool companies will call in all I like the ones that there is an actual sharpened edge where my fingers running on right here and that allows you to bore out wood and other materials and I think it's a very important feature to have one and all and one last point to make with the Victoria Knox field master is its total weight with the sheath sitting in there it's right around 4 and 4.5 ounces so really light really late to sit on the belt now moving on to my other favorite EDC multi-tool and that is the Booker plus tech tool 7 out door and again we've done a specific video on this I'll take a look at the sheath before we get into the tool and this is a different style the last one was wet molded the pouch actually holds a tool and this is not wet molded you see there's actual movement to this and I've actually sewn down these seams this is an experiment I've been trying to do because before like I said I don't like wet molding particularly too much just because of the amount of waste of leather that's involved same type of belt loop I do wet form this belt loop you can see it has shape that's not from where I actually do that intentionally raised raise it up where the belts going to pass through and that's just a nice little touch nice little feature I like doing and moving on to the front you can see there is a button stud and the reason why I went for a button stud as opposed to a snap is that listen did you hear that the only thing you're hearing is just the leather moving there's no snap of a snap snaps are noisy and there's nothing wrong with that but I just opted for this just for a quiet

open and close so here's the bokor plus tech tool seven out door I never liked that name there's way too much to say tech tool 7 outdoor edition either way it's a really good quality tool it got a thumbs up for me in its own video and again for the same reasons I mentioned why I like these small multi tools now the only difference between this and the Victorinox is there are some tool differences but the most important ones are there and this just feels a little bit thicker well actually it is thicker the tools are thicker and when you open a tool up on again one of my most to use tools on here when that snaps open to its open position it just feels way more solid than the Victorinox but the Victorinox never feels or has felt weak since I've been using it so you've seen the plain edge blade which is the prerequisite for me if I'm going to be buying one of these tools or using it and then the other tool is again a pair of scissors and again these are really nice and strong really sturdy I do like this tool I really do and that's why I carry and use it now and the reason why I like this tool again for my EDC around my house and going to the woods it's got a really sharp board saw or excuse me it has it possesses doesn't got anything and again there's a really sharp all as this sharpened side and the total weight for this really cool package is a 6.7 ounces so it's 2 ounces heavier than the Victoria Knox let me make something clear though these small multi tools are by no way too big to carry just in the pocket as they are I just don't like too much in my pocket it's just the tick of mine I'm not saying these don't work well just for carrying in the pocket let me know if there are any other multi tools that you think I would like now you've heard and seen all the reasons why I carry what I do I know there's some other ones out in the market so let me know if you know a lot of knows yeah so that concludes this video I like to thank all of you for your continued support on youtube all the thumbs up the comments the really encouraging comments we get I really appreciate it and to all our patrons thank you as well we'll be having our giveaway you know coming at the end of this month again for all you $10 and plus patrons for the next video this is Creek with black out outdoors peace out Turtles I'm moving this one
