hold your rolling cut them knives hm ten pocket knife hold engaged hey what's up Turtles Creek here with blackout outdoors and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kellum knives hm ten fixed blade pocket knife so getting right into the specs you can get this knife for around 40 or 50 US dollars overall length it's about four and a half inches which is about eleven and a half centimeters blade lengths right around two inches which is right around five centimeters this is a hand-forged knife from this finnish company and you can see it almost looks like a steel striker and I'll talk on that to give a sisal wrapped handle right here this is a sisal wrap which is in the agave family the grind on here look like a Scandi grind but I ended up just putting a micro bevel on this high carbon steel just easier to maintain in my mind this is a cool little to three-finger knife but I want to get a get some things out now to cut with it I'm gonna cut some paracord now like I said this is a two three finger style knife meaning it's not gonna fill your whole hand it's a small little utility knife and it almost feels like you're using a razor blade and just and what I mean by that is basically just the size in your hand fits in the pocket in its sheath it's just a totally different style of pocket knife for me have a little fixed blade riding in the pocket just a different style altogether and one that I really like so far I really do there's a loud plane going over and like I said just really just making quick work I had this super sharp just dropped it all that on that micro bevel I put on there I have about medium sized hand so you can see three fingers it's just about comfortable but usually two fingers and my thumb then resting on the spine gives me real nice control there's some paper cutting you can get this steel really sharp but it is a pretty soft steel and I know that because I had some edges edge damage and I took it to my my diamond stones and it didn't really take much to take out chips at all but you can get it really really nice and sharp how it came pretty sharp but if I put an edge on its because it wasn't as sharp as I want and most knives come with utility edge and that's fine but for me I wanted my knives as sharp as I can possibly get them you think that's being hand Forge and a high carbon steel automatically think all that would work great as a striker and in theory it should but it doesn't it doesn't throw sparks so let's just do it this way because this is a sharp sharp knife you got to be really careful about trying to do this no sparks not throwing any sparks at all try the spine of the knife for giggles it's not doing anything but taking flakes off this off this edge of this Flint so if you have any ideas of maybe why this isn't working let me know maybe have to take this to a grinder flatten this out or sharpen it you can see the high contrast at areas now from the Flint hitting the steel the spine your isn't super sharp either so you're not going to get great sparks off of a fair ride it comes with a nice leather sheath fits really nice form-fitted in there just two men to be slip in the pocket this whole setup weighs less than two ounces so really lightweight there anything I did for the sheath is I burnished this edge this raw edge I just burnished it no wellton there either there's just a cool little knife you know just a different style of a fixed blade pocket knife so let me know let me know in the comments is this something you'd be interested in using or if you have or if you liked or disliked about using a knife like this it's just got a cool style too it's just really cool have some related videos for you to check out if you like what we're doing all you got to do is hit the thumbs up button until the next video this is Creek with black au outdoors later Turtles
