what's up Turtles Creek here with blackout outdoors

Stoney and I around the force today filming a couple videos unrelated to what we're I'm about to do there's this tree right here that was is inviting me to climb it and it's a small black birch tree I believe and I was like hey Stoney let's film it and Stoney being the person he is was IA why why is it important why should we film you climbing a tree and he's right why should we but I think it brings up a good point or it brings up a topic of health including or spiritual physical and mental health but with this it's primarily going to be me sort of challenging myself in a physical capacity can I do this we all know what coming to the forest does for us internally how it sort of brings us a piece in sort of levels us back out with all the stressors that out there creates we come here to sort of Center ourselves in balance everything that's going on inside of us dealing with the family life or work just everything but with all the seriousness out of the way climbing around on things is just so fun you watch children just play around anywhere what do they naturally do they crawl around on their hands and using their legs as opposed to standing upright they're interacting with the world

their physical world more than just standing upright and walking over top of it so that's what I'm going to do today I'm going to use pretty much all of my body to try to fight gravity with the help of this tree climbing a tree definitely has inherent risks involved with it but for me today this is going to be a calculated risk because I do work with my physical health enough to feel like I want to challenge myself doing this today but Stoney's here with me we're not really far from the car so if anything does happen I'm not me here not out here by myself and potentially a pretty an ideal situation with that being said I have done some warming up because I'm getting older now and I have to be way more thoughtful with what I do physically I'm not 20 years old anymore where I can just you know go out and do anything without a warm-up without really any forethought involved the last thing I want to talk about before I actually attempt to climb this tree is a little bit of technique so I'm climbing a tree without any branches I'm going to be using the trunk to work my way up the tree and all if not most trees don't grow perfectly straight they might be leaning one way or the other and what that means for me climbing it is that I need to if it's leaning this way I need to make sure my body stays one sort of the underside of the lean because if I don't go on the side of it my body is going to want to swing to the underside and it might make sense I probably will have to position myself a couple different I guess positions as I'm going up it as I'm just seeing the way the tree leans

and the streets pretty slick not an excuse that's keep going it's pollen over everything not as graceful not as graceful as I was planning how how did it go like 30 40 feet it's a little bit thick to the give with that is Street stronger but it's harder to get my hands around around that excuse work I think that tree is too thick can't get my hands around it see how it swung me around that's where the technique comes in your bodies are gonna go where it once - oh man this is difficult okay gain grip tank anything grip with my boots all right think I want to try it one more time it's really hard to get a grip with my boots and there's really not a lot of little footholds on this tree swinging me back this way

technique definitely technique I felt it their treatise a little bit to fans started leaning too much I'm out of breath

give me a second I've tried this a couple of times before maybe a year or two ago had pretty good success whoo I'm not sure exactly why today I felt like my technique was getting better where I could take my weight off my muscles and more just hang on my joints I felt like my body was working a little bit more efficiently but this is all I'm going to do today body still feels good and if you like I pulled anything so warm up was worth it and the attempt was good so I think we'll revisit this again so let me know what you thought I really want to really want to know all right till the next video says Creek with blackout later Turtles
