Light My Fire & Mora Swedish Fireknife | Bushcraft Knife | Field Review

Description

Krik of Black Owl Outdoors reviews the Light My Fire Fireknife, a joint venture between Mora of Sweden and Light My Fire. The Fireknife features a Light My Fire scout FireSteel in the butt of a Mora knife. The sheath is a your typical molded plastic with a belt clip found on most of Mora's knives. The spine of the Fireknife is sharp and works perfect for throwing sparks with the accompanied FireSteel. Wether you are a backpacker, camper, hiker, bushcrafter, hunter, fisherman, or just need a knife in your vehicle, the Light My Fire Swedish Fireknife is perfect for all your light duty chores.

sup Turtles strick here the black outdoors and today I'm going to be doing a little short review on the blade my fire fire knife this is a joint knife between more up Sweden and light my fire I wanna say thank you speeds personally for this cool little tool this is the green color option which is like more of a neon green in my opinion there's four other color options available they're all pretty bright except for a black and this may free tails I want to say the retail price is thirty four ninety five I think I've seen an REI which probably gonna be in the fun the higher side of the price range but anyway it's not a bad price right around 30 40 dollars a penny where you find it and it comes in this really familiar more sheath plastic sheath

yes sir actually and it has this belt clip which I like show you which is not just effective on a belt I can put it on my pocket for just quick I really wanted to that's not coming out more than effective very secure don't need to be on a belt easily right in front of me from doing tasks I like this better than the swivel belt loop Mora has I like this clip better into the specs of the knife she put away so we have overall length of the knife eight and a half inches blade length three and three-quarter 3.75 inches the blade thickness this is the smaller what's smaller the more line is the 2.5 millimeter as opposed to you know the bushcraft or heavy duty at three point two and this is not a carbon steel blade it's stainless Sandvik stainless steel with a modified Scandi grind we have the normal scan D here running from the handle up here towards the tip for about an inch is this profile which I wanna say is worth your field dressing an animal cleaning it's just thinner the blades just thinner an extra bevel extra feature you haven't seen on other morris of this side I think it might be on the survival as one of the survival series might have it working down from the blade you have this rubberized handle one you can obviously see embedded in the handle is this plate my fire fire steel Scout and it's visible from both sides and just with about a quarter of a turn and pull out the fair rods exposed now I'm not sure why there's holes in the handle itself here and here to expose the fair rod I don't know if that's for show I'm not sure what the purpose is personally I'd like to see it just completely you know just a regular handle rubber over it but see one of the nice things because it is exposed not nice but that's okay in my opinion is that it's all plastic inside the cavity where that from the scout and fire still Scout goes

cold band-aids falling off getting back to what I was saying there's plastic all it's all in here it's all contained with this green plastic that you're seeing of the handle so don't think anything is going to penetrate actually in the hand or touch any of this but still not sure why it's visible from the outside and I'm not sure exactly what this way is give me a second on the check yeah 2.7 ounces so very light and it's a small knife compared to the bushcraft black which is five point seven ounces it's three ounces more than this knife waves so it's definitely a small knife a small blade and it's ground we have fear like the bushcraft lack the ridge the spine is able to throw sparks really bites into a Ferro rod which I will demonstrate now and you know this is a great knife like to throw in a car take fishing with you if you want to clean a fish you can still dress a deer with this I'd feel comfortable with its small enough good enough control definitely sharp enough but it's also great as obviously Owens call it a tool or a multi-tool or two and one because cutting edge has much more I mean you know knife has many uses besides just quote cutting something but it is two-in-one and

say you're out winter camping and you're out altitude maybe a lighters not gonna work where your igniter on your stoves not gonna work and you don't want to deal with matches because your hands are you know you have limited dexterity and your fingers you can use this they even get a gas stove started which I'll demonstrate right here turn this until I hear gas

works like a charm that's great like I said before mentioned in other videos the spark coming off this is almost 3000 degrees Celsius right around 5,400 degrees Fahrenheit so very very hot very very hot spark coming off of this all in all great knife I wouldn't be my only knife in the bag if I was backpacking but for day hikes fishing maybe depending where I was hunting I would definitely carry this very cool but not to replace a full tang knife on it on a deep backcountry a deep backcountry trip it's just it just feels a little small just a little small of a knife but perfect for certain tasks definitely perfect for certain tasks this is the light my fire fire knife is correct sounding outback outdoors later Turtles
