hi everyone

and what we got for you today is another kick review and today we're going to look at the Swan dry postures the original version really really happy to be doing a review of this piece of kit because it's an item of clothing that's kind of become really synonymous with bushcraft you see a lot of people are into bushcraft wearing this and I wanted to have a proper real look at this Mel's looked at buying it there weren't any reviews out there but I went ahead and I've got it anyway and still really impressed this piece of kit so I've gone for the traditional version which is long it comes down to my knees we'll talk a little bit about why I picked this particular version and why that's important in a moment but first of all let's look at the specifications of this this product so the outer is made from a hundred percent wool and it is waterproofed the method of waterproofing apparently is some brand secret I don't know what it is but I have tested this is some serious wet weather recently and I did it genuinely stay very dry did absorb water and I did but I did stay dry underneath it but with it being wall even if it was soaked through it's still going to keep you warm as I've said it quite a lot my video's wool fiber does keep you warm even when it's wet so I've gone for the the traditional green look one so the exterior of this is all in this kind of olive green color it's really cleverly put together really spacious inside and it's also lined with a wool rich lining it's cotton and wore couldn't find the specific details of that online anywhere it lays up at the front and there's a nice little kind of draft excluder and storm flap behind where it laces up and the hold I'll show you shortly buttons up really nicely around your neck as well inside this it's just a plain square kind of fitting with some additional flaps either side here and to give you more movement when you when you're actually in this garment it's very very warm when it's on but I found today it's quite a quite a hot day out for middle of spring in in England but it's actually kept me quite cool the Leith is well it does seem to regulate your temperature

really

well so let's try this on and have a pullover style one doesn't fasten up over the front so you actually have to pull it completely over your head just before I get into what you can see here's the line in which is really nicely stitched on everything's really really really steadily stitched inside but this lining is not completely fastened to the inside which is really good it's going to make it more insulating because you get that kind of dead air space inside it and it's very very comfortable once it's on as well so to get into it just pull it over right up and over your head like so now as I'm in it it's on most the time if I wasn't doing this for review and also have a belt on over the top because the only problem with this is because it's so long getting at anything your pockets or your belts on your trousers is a little bit difficult but it's not a problem to stick your belt on the outside and you're good to go you can see the lace up top here she's really nice

I've not had to had the need to fully do that up yet but it's really good really decent cords in there not cheap little things and to be honest even if they were getting used to replace got a son Swan dry logo on the front always works out for that there's a lot of imitations of this particular garment out there and to be honest I would go for the proper the proper thing this top pocket is fantastic I generally keep a little notepad in there on my little Swiss Army knife a little folding knife really easy to access

nice big bottom really sturdy stitched on we recall now the hole is one of my favorite things about it I'll go up to Scotland quite a lot and particularly over the winter and this hood fits really nicely a lot of hoods and things out there and not really thought out they're just kind of a head shaped piece of fabric but this as you can see actually has a ridge of fabric that goes through the middle of it meaning that really hugs the shape of your head quite nicely I'm going to get my hair out of the way when you button this up especially you've got a shemagh or a scarf on underneath it it buttons up really really nicely on the outside there and this hood doesn't blow up every five seconds problem with a lot of the hunters they blow off really easily but because this is so well fitted to your head it really stays in place that's dead warm a little bit space and everyone wear a hat on the however and it's also got to pull ties at the front to really pull it tight it's very very warm piece of kit thoroughly impressed with it the sides of it here I've got these little pleats and then well they've got a little dart in them which means you can still get full movement so actually crouch them down to the ground it's not too difficult and that crouching down to the ground thing is the reason that I've gone for the traditional pullover style wall it's just slightly longer than some of the other Swan driver shirts the reason I've gone flat is identify as I'm kneeling particularly by the fire underneath on the ground most of the girls that I were rise up the base my back what's the base my back gets cold I cool down very very quickly obviously in this that isn't going to happen because it comes right down to my knees so I do on the floor comes right down just to the ground the floor and there you go it's not going to rise a really really well-designed piece of kit it's got a nice baggy sleeves in it there's plenty space for extra layers underneath it as well the sleeves are adjustable and so I can undo that bottom there's plenty of space and there for them and originally when I bought this I thought it was going to be quite a cheer it's not it's really really soft wore gets a little itchy around the neck ever so slightly but nothing nothing too bad I mean that's just something you have to deal with them all what to be honest if you were in a scarf or something it isn't gonna be an issue that's all so usually when I got when I'm wearing this I'll be wearing my and slug pack respond pack all my DD action pack goes on the top don't put too tight what you can do with the belt on is you can just pull out slightly and then you've suddenly got all this space underneath it and that's really good because that space then because it's wall in it's insulated it's double layered it's going to be really rewarm underneath the there you go guys that's the the squander I've bought a shirt Bushman shirt sorry really really fantastic bit a kit the only downside of this is the price tag on it including postage I paid about 165 pounds in tol for this which is quite steep but I did read a few written reviews on this and everyone was owned one the general consensus be seems to be that they last absolutely rather really really nicely put together good materials it arrived within two days of me ordering it so yeah that's the bush I highly recommend them thank you for
