hey what's up Turtles Creek here with blackout outdoors recently we were tagged by Jack at black Scout survival to share ours or mine free survival items that we would carry with us if we only had the option to carry three before I get into the physical survival items I chose I think the most important survival item so I keep doing air quotes is actually what's in here what's in our mind because Jack said a lot of things in his video that I agree with and one of the things he mentioned was situational dependency or you know what specifically situation environment am I going into that I'm trying to survive in or four so I think the knowledge we have in our head the skillset and our experience is always with us and it's something you're not going to forget if you're ready to run out the door you don't have time to grab because you can have all the top quality equipment and gear in the world but if you don't know how to use it they're practically useless with that being said let's get into my first item my first item is my clean canteen and I'm choosing a metal container because you can boil water in this disinfect water for safe to drink number two

is a Ferro rod it's only just a quality fair rod

I think whatever you're comfortable in lake I think that's personal preference what a quality fair rod is my second survival Idol but again you need to know how to use this in order for it to be worth it to carry right so there goes back to the skills lighters are really great and super convenient when you need to get a fire fast but if I didn't know the situation I was going into this can start a lot more fires in my mind if you know how to use it efficiently than just a later and last but certainly certainly not least is a knife is a cutting tool and this is the se4 and i specifically chose this knife because the full flat grind edge retention and durability of the flat grind saber would work just as well but I like flat grinds a little bit better than a saber grind full tang knife of course this is high carbon steel so you still have to care for it I don't really have a stainless or or a higher quality steel than this high carbon knife but nonetheless more than functional and capable and very important because it's ridiculously difficult to create a cutting tool in the forest now if you're nurse urban sort of survival situation if you will scavenging you know trash from our society this is much more of an option you have access to more material but not knowing the situation you're getting into bringing a metal cutting tool in my mind is super-important one little feature on this knife that's important to go along with the fare rod is a sharpened spine that way my knife can help me start fires you can make a striker out of a lot of different things in the forest but having this sharpened spine is a very super useful again so there's my

three survival items that I chose and pretty sure it's the exact same at the exact same but the knife the fair rot and a metal container exactly what Jack chose and I think a lot of other people probably chose us as well now I'm not gonna tag anyone specifically to continue this but if you haven't participated in this you know sort of tag video merrygoround if you want to put a video up and let us know I'll be interested to hear your thoughts as well another note I am NOT a trained survivalist I don't have survival training and I don't know I guess a professional setting if you will but what I do have is a lot of experience being in the forest and when I was working for the Forest Service I was in very remote remote settings for work every day being out away from a car so do have a lot of experience in the forest and I know what's important for comfort and that basically that directly translates to your survival so I just want to sort of give that little background because we don't do a lot of survival items and survival on this channel because neither of us are super trained in that what we have is our experience and what we want to do on this channel is just show you how to sort of be in the woods with comfort and make it look really pretty now with that being said if you like this video give us a thumbs up it really helps us it really does that's what YouTube wants to see from creators they want to see a thumbs up so click it okay that's it to the next video it's just Creek with blackout hey Turtles
