ESEE Izula | Neck Knife | Field Review

Description

Krik of Black Owl Outdoors reviews the ESEE/RAT Izula neck knife. While always a staple of bushman, neck knives have been gaining in popularity within the last couple of years with a wider audience. The Izula shines in the task she was created for. A small yet robust knife, the Izula would find itself at home with any camper, backpacker, hiker or outdoorsmen or outdoors woman.

a turtle's Creek here black outdoors and today I'm going to be doing a review on the SE rat Azula neck knife it's a neck knife meant to be hang a hung tip up it comes in this black plastic molded sheath

overall length of the knife six and a quarter inches blade length two point eight eight inches features a flat grind 1095 carbon steel its powder-coated this is the color of this coating I don't know if they are calling a coyote tan it's a tan the knife's available and I think three or four other different color options it's a skeleton handle which is why this para cord is wrapped to make an actual material handle but you definitely don't need a paracord a paracord handle but it definitely makes a little bit sturdier in the hand little something bigger to hold on to because it is a pretty small knife meant to be a neck knife it has actually I'm gonna get little bit close to the camera show you some will show you some close-ups all right maybe this is better this is the Azula see the flat grind powder coating and there is jumping up here where my pinkies running along and now if you can see it with the focus of the camera but you can see how this goes the troughs go down in to go down into the knife the troughs is instead of it raised like I was mentioning a feature on that on the rat 7 like I said there's a paracord handle this is a skeleton you know all this in here would be it's hollow which said anyways 2 ounces so having a hollow handle definitely aids in the low weight and this knifes supposed to be like I said a neck knife among one other thing but it's a neck knife and personally the sheath I think some of this plastic is unnecessary I would have maybe like to see just the outline you can see in the sheath the outline of the actual blade like you know just take all this extra plastic off I don't I don't know what the purpose is it may you know to attach to Molly or attach it to a bag but as for neck nice purpose you know I think a smaller sheath she just you know possible another option but just my opinion and this knife is definitely a little workhorse it's supposed to be a survival knife and neck knife that if you lose all your crap all your gear and this is still on you that this is going to perform perform for it's going to do a lot of different things and it will it's a very strong knife as he's making a top quality knife I don't know how much this retails for I want to say somewhere around $50 I'll have to check it'll probably put in the video but this is this is a workhorse of a knife it has come sharp friction lock sheath I think I forgot to mention that was going over the sheet but it's a friction lock like I said because it's meant to be hung um hanged tip up we found a piece of wood stay stay there find a piece of wood I can really get a lot of torque and these cuts because it's so small on my hand I'm pretty much you know engulfing the whole knife in my hand and really getting a lot of pressure behind on the spot of the knife with my thumb which has allowed me to put a lot of force being transferred into the cut so still in different different types of cuts just to show you how maneuverable the knife is but anyways this is the SE Azula from rat neck knife nice little knife to have for sure quality coming from se and rat this is Creek signing out black outdoors stay safe Turtles
