hey wassup Turtles Creek here have something new to share with you today and in our DIY handcrafted video series we've been doing now and it's my bushcraft seat on one side it's a 100% cotton this is canvas has been waxed twice with the fjällräven green then wax made on a sewing machine and as we turn it around the other side is some of that wall had left over from my interact project this is that blended warhead and have a wolf sewn on this side so here's the wax I think this is ten bucks going for 10 bucks and this is a pair of fan and beeswax oh it's a mix I'm just sort of testing out get the get that get out of the box I'm sort of testing out that I keep abilities and differences between waxing garments and particularly like I said this one is a blended blended mixture it's paraffin and beeswax as opposed to just using beeswax but I used a hairdryer to put this on sort of heated this up with the dryer will heat up the material a little bit and put the wax on long even strokes a light coat got the hairdryer back out and mounted into the fabric and I did that twice so I'm curious if any of you have wax things before and you've used an iron and a hairdryer and be curious to know your preference on either method let's do a water test though I'll show you that waxing capabilities a little bit of creek water here in this pot do a little water test pour some water on the outside of this canvas see if I can get it better get the roll a little bit better that's not too bad like I said two coats and this has been used so it's like two fresh coats but you said just testing out all the variables see it's darker right there looks like it's going in right there some maybe there was a waxing was later there maybe I was using it there there's more we're in that section you can see it's beating in other places stomachs growling alright well that concludes the water test but I do want to talk a little bit more about this I just made it because colder weather is coming you know and it's kind of I think I think will be nice to utilize this because the reality is I don't carry a wool blanket with me all the time or a giant ground cloth you know it's just intended to be sat on wet ground cold ground give you some warmth you can kneel on it anything like that and that's how I've been using it and then it really hasn't been really cold yet I mean it's fall it's cold but I really want you know I haven't been able to test how warm it actually will insulate just just sitting and and this wool how well how well it will work single layer testing out the stitching the Machine I use all of it you know just prototype for me I haven't really made much on the sewing machine but it's been fun one couple things I might add maybe up here maybe some grommets on the corners I don't have a grommet kit um it's just you know buy the kit the setters the everything like that I don't have one I might though not sure but don't make fun of my stitching either I know it's a little wonky let me know your thoughts never know what you think this is crepe with black ow later Turtles
