hey what's up Turtles it's Creek here with blackout outdoors and today I'm going to be doing a video on how to make this simple camp chair that I'm sitting on right now I'm going to get a torn apart and then show you how to make it so I have everything taken apart and I'm going to show you what you need now to make this chair to start you're just going to need two long pulls this is the size I chose to use you can probably play around with this for the geometry to really dial it down the different ways the geometries going to work with you sitting on it but this is the size pole that I've used and I figure it's going to work in different applications two of these in addition to the two long poles I just showed you're going to need a piece of wood about this length and this is actually going to act sort of as the seat

this is about probably one and a half inch diameter you don't want it rotten and this needs to be a sturdy piece of wood and the only quarters you're going to need is three Hanks of I'm not sure how long they are once I get it going I'll show you show you how long they are and before I started assembling anything I just kind of cleaned up all the knot all the nodes and little branches sticking out of each piece of wood just to make it cleaner and that way I'm not catching any of my clothing or anything like that on the pieces of wood so the first step of getting the chair put together is you're going to take the two long pulls and it really works well if you can have something to leave them lean them against but you're gonna take the poles and you're going to cross them like this and the distance I've worked out to where I want this sort of across the bead and the intersection where I'm going to lash is going to be about from my arm to right here in the middle middle of my chest so I'm going to sort of I'm going to measure down from the top and that's pretty much perfect where I have it so that's what I'm going to start to lash these two together and I'm going to use the jamb not to lash this there's not a lot of different forces acting upon this lashing doesn't have to be anything to to in and in depth but I'm gonna use the jamb not I've done a video on it it's pretty quick and easy if you're not going to keep this together

keep it out your camp forever this is the variability I use in the jamb not make it really easy to untie it if you don't use this it can be a pain in the but once I have that kind of secured I'm just going to wrap it now with some force around it go three times and then I'm going to do a couple sort of lashings

and now I'm just going to tie it off so just use what the clove hitch looks like cross these two now that I have that done I'm going to get the seat and my last two pieces of cordage now this is sort of going to be some trial and error of where this is going to go how far down it's going to go and to do that I'm just going to hold it I'm just kind of holding it engaging it to see what's comfortable where the contacts of the back of my but the side of my legs how this all feels sort of judging it and right there seems good so now at this point I'm just going to latch this together at the same method I did before I'm going to use a jam knot and that's all I'm gonna do with this I don't I'm not going to even lash in between these two it's gonna do the same thing on the other side

and that's all there is to it very simple very quick hardly any time at all and it's pretty dang comfortable honestly for what it is when I sit in and I can sort of sit back and the sides of my legs sort of touch the triangle or if I want I can sit up on this and sort of sit over myself and over my knees like this or I can even lie back not the most comfortable position in the chair seat but it can be done and while I have this resting on the down tree right now this can also be used against a standing tree and I'll take it over and actually show you
