it was up Turtles creek here today we're going to take a look at the excalibur to from boker plus knives here she is this is the olive scales olive wood scales on this version and this is the smaller of the Excalibur there's a one which is bigger than this this is the two and actually bilker sent this over to us to show to use like to thank them and this is just a really slim sort of gentleman gentleman style knife which I've ever really agreed with that or like that terminology but let's get on the some specs of this really pretty knife because I really really do love its aesthetic this is going for in between sixty and seventy dollars I've seen it and one of the reasons for that price as you can see the liners and spacers it's it's titanium but it's blue anodizing I don't know if it's picking up that color it should it really gives you a unique look against this olive wood scales the clip is that as well and that's a that's a really sturdy that's a really sturdy pocket clip but that blue anodized that's just sitting there the whole way is really nice but the scales are really really like that and it makes this knife feel really light and really comfortable to carry in the pocket pocket clip tip up tip down only on this side right hand it's in the pocket sort of like this tip up tip down I know if you've been paying attention or noticing but there's no nail Nick in this on either side of the blade right but it still is a one-handed opener well how do you do that glad you asked there's jimping right here around the heel the heel of the blade and it's pretty aggressive it definitely takes some skin off when you're using this a lot you can probably see some of my dead skin cells getting caught in that jimping i noticed that using this knife now for a while definitely going to get built up within this gym ping but that's okay but to open it really just take my thumb right here pull that jumping and start to open it up now it's kind of a little goofy to show on camera but i'll try to get a better better angle of it let's finish talking about some of the specs that's the it's a club really collaborate indesign excuse me and thats the last name one of the fellows in the design 440c can see you can see that right there this is my first experience with 440c and boker plus uses this a lot and I've been pretty happy with it honestly pretty darn happy I use it for work and EDC type task where I'm cutting you know like tape and and really thick plastic and stuff like that and I've been really happy with this edge retention and it stops right back up the really super sharp this is a hollow grind spear point blade and yoga plus I also notice really likes to hollow grind for bleeds it's about I think two and three-quarters inches blade length and the handle then is I think three and three quarters so six and a half inch overall length if my memory serves me correct and it's just a really sweet classic little knife and I'm medium sized hands right you can see I'm getting a pretty solid purchase if you will on the handle but again this is like sort of a gentleman style knife and what that means to me is it's a really sleek simple blade for the pocket I'm not trying to cut through cardboard or cut through metal figuratively speaking with this knife so I'm not really looking for something that's going to be beefy and fill my hand completely because really I'm just going to be doing you know quick task with it where are just maybe want to use it just real quick to slice and I will cut some stuff with it now just to show in use it's got a piece of wood this is sean and show how sharp this is i just actually stopped it today see if i can do it i mean that's pretty that's a thin ribbon right there like i said hollow ground blade and I've been really happy with this 440c like I said my first time using it boker seems to really like using that steel and I seem like they've done a pretty good job with it this is really soft wood but can't do a knife video without using the knife according to my brother cut some cord and grab some string real quick this is just some cheap nylon let's go for let's go for and see how she fares really easy can't that knife let it just slice this is a liner lock in here and there's really no sort of dugout here's a profile and see that profile right there's nothing really carved out for you to get your thumb to push this liner lock over it's pretty well flush from here sort of moving this way like I said it's not really carved out at all for push this liner lock over but it really doesn't impede your ability to UM to unlock this knife at all I didn't mention trying to get a better better frame of opening with that thumb heel right here push that in there and just rolls it's kind of difficult because it's a small knife and it kind of is an interesting way to open up a knife like that I haven't had any problems with getting used to it still a lot of tension under that one you and when you undo the lock nice lock up nice d 10 and its really perfectly centered in conclusion about this Excalibur two things i really like i really think is a good call these olive handles olive wood they look really really nice i really like the lines of this knife right the spear point the shape of the handle just the lines in general regardless of material choice are just really appealing to me and it's a comfortable handle like i said i'm not trying to grip with this thing with my life and do super heavy use with it it's a smaller size knife this quick task with it you know quick slicing you want a knife on you nothing that's really bulky nothing that's really heavy this is the size and type of knife for that type of task with that being said some of the things i don't like really nothing honestly I don't really have any complaints with this knife okay not a complaint there's something I want to mention because this is olive wood and there's a little bit of gap in some of the places between the scale the olive scale and the liner's some places more noticeable and others it's not a real big issue and I don't even know if the camera will pick it up because it's such a small detail and I'd only think it's in jeopardy of coming off its glued and screwed to each other but it's definitely a small detail that I have to point out so that really wasn't even a negative but it was it could have went under a con for being nitpicky in the details but like I said besides that I really really really like this knife I've been using it for EDC and like I said for some of my work task in one of the jobs I do it's held an edge really well excuse me better than I thought it wouldn't obviously the type of stuff I'm cutting unless it's a super steel no edge is going to hold its super sharpness that long because this is going through really edge destroying material but outside that straps right back up super sharp hair popping sharp and I just really like the knife I really do like I said the line so if you can experience with any other boker knives boker plus knives let me know leave a comment I just been really really impressed with their designs honestly go take a look at their stuff if you like classic-looking knives and the gentleman style knives go check out their stuff I think you'll be impressed with their with their designs so if you have any questions about anything I didn't go over in detail let me know leave a comment this is creek with by Cao later turtles
