good day turtles this is creek with blackout outdoors and today I'm going to be doing a video on different types of tender to keep in a survival kit check out so the tender is going to help you get a fire going and these are things you know that you can find natural tender in the forest all around you but for the sake of keeping it in a survival kit when you need to get a fire going right away that just that mental note and confidence that you have something that will sustain a flame is a you know psychologically in a survival situation could really help so to start off I'm gonna show the combination of some cotton and a different type of guess burning medium should today to slow down the flame on the cotton ball the cotton from burning just take a little bit of this petroleum jelly on my finger and then just work it into the cotton spreading it around as best I can while keeping surface area because this will take a spark which I'll show after I get it processed and in the more surface area the better chance you have of export catching

and you can put these in a if you have an old like pill container a small pill container you can stack a bunch of these in there already with Vaseline petroleum jelly on it and just put pop it in your pack

and effectively it's just acting like a wick and it'll sustain a flame upwards yup up to a minute and you can also use petroleum jelly or some hand sanitizer that has alcohol in it I think this sixty-three percent ethyl alcohol now do the same thing put this out next I'm going to show you this product let's let that burn cold wet fire comes in a little plastic bag it's this little white cube kind of almost reminds me of a Salt Lake but this will take a flame right away and just burn as a whole cube or you can take shavings off of it and get little piles and reuse this more than once and this will hold a flame for a while as well and this will actually burn in water to floating water I'll try see if it'll take a spark really quick I think it might not sure spider on

maybe not but anyways I'll show what I showed of later does to it enacted I is the same thing as the cotton ball with petroleum jelly or something with alcohol just a sustained small flame to help you get a fire started and you can use these to you know manufactured materials but i want to show you natural one that i just found you know just on my walk out here to do the video show you the characteristic of the tree so i'm not certain if it's a birch yellow birch it might be or an order but they're in the same family the betula AC and i just notice the characteristic of it up the bark it peels off commonly refer to like it's paper bark birch different birds trees currently is this paper bark that peels off and i just know that as a characteristic for fire starting it's gonna it's going to work well and i'll show you this is already burning this flame burning this little oh i just want to see if it'll do and once I get that Bartlett has another source another you can put little piece of this bark just in a integer survival kit you know so yeah those are some different types of tenders to keep in your pack in a survival kit and this is Creek signing out with black outdoors stay safe Turtles
